Welcome to this guided meditation which is gonna take you on a journey to the beautiful South Island of New Zealand.
A place called Queenstown.
A walk along a beautiful lake.
The Maori name for Queenstown is Tahuna meaning shallow bay.
So just settling in and finding your place of rest today.
Welcoming the whole body just as you are.
It's a real honour to share this session with you.
Connecting with the land of the long white cloud,
Aotearoa,
New Zealand.
A place that holds so much aroha and love in my heart.
Taking some deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth if you can and on each outward breath imagine that you are letting go of anything that no longer serves you.
Simply arrive and recognise how your body feels.
Observe the sensations and even if there are no sensations notice that too.
Bringing awareness to your feet,
Your knees,
The hips,
The belly.
Rising with awareness to the chest,
The neck.
Relaxing the shoulders away from the head.
Connecting with the face muscles.
Bringing awareness to the eyelids as they rest and feeling the simplicity of the breath.
Noticing the natural rhythm of the breath and how the body moves as you breathe.
In your mind's eye taking yourself to the South Island of New Zealand to a place called Lake Wakatipu.
In Queenstown it's a crisp clear day.
In the distance you can see the remarkable mountains with fluffy snow caps on their tops.
As you embark on a beautiful walk in the forest by the lake.
As you walk in this forest on the lake's edge,
Hearing the water lapping on the lakeside rocks.
If you listen closely you might also be able to hear your own breath as you breathe in the fresh air of the day.
Becoming aware of your thoughts.
Perhaps your thoughts create sounds.
And if you listen even closer you might be able to hear the slight pulse of your heart and your nervous system.
On each breath going deeper within your body.
Allowing yourself to sink into this beautiful surrounding.
Nestled in the forest by the lake.
Overlooking the mountains.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Honouring both the in breath and the out breath.
Walking through the forest you hear the birdsong.
Playful and cheerful.
Letting go in this moment of anything that does not need to be here.
In this time.
In this space.
Being fully present.
Saying the words to yourself.
Be here.
All of me.
Right here.
Right now.
The sounds of the water.
Drawing closer.
Cleansing your whole body.
Your whole body resting.
The sun.
This beautiful pure white light entering your body as you breathe in.
Taking some time to breathe in the sun.
The sun rays filtering through the crown of the head.
And if you could give the crown of your head a colour right now what would it be?
The sunlight on the crown providing healing energies.
Likewise noticing how your feet feel at your root as you walk across this beautiful tranquil land.
The earth healing your root.
Vibrating among the energy of the trees across the forest.
Noticing the leaves.
The pine cones across the path.
What colour would your root be right now?
Observing the trees closely.
The colour of the leaves.
Some of which have now fallen.
The pine cones on the ground.
Beautiful sticks and driftwood along the lake edge.
This lake is magnificent in size.
It has everything you need right now.
Reflecting on the mountains on the lake bed.
The sun shining off the water across your body.
The mountains are protecting you.
The lake is cleansing.
And the forest takes you deep on your own soul journey.
Taking some moments now to observe.
Remembering if your mind wanders.
To simply come back to the breath.
And you may now like to observe the breath in the figure of eight all around your body.
Breathing at the feet.
Into the core of the belly.
Winding all the way to the top of the head.
And back round in connection with the infinity of your soul.
Your imprint of who you truly are.
Soaking up all you need on this journey across Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown.
Honouring your own experiences.
The sounds.
The sensations.
Holding gratitude in your heart.
Gently beginning to bring yourself back into the space.
Back into this moment of your day.
Breathing in and out.
Moving the body gently.
Wishing you light and love and aroha.
