Welcome to Pilates in Prayer.
This class today will be mostly laying down exercises and so it's great if you have any challenge with standing exercise.
Let's begin with a prayer.
God,
We ask for your blessing upon our practice today,
Upon our bodies,
Our minds,
Our hearts.
Shower us with your light and let us move in the freedom and the peace of your grace.
Amen.
Let's begin today on all fours.
With a gentle exercise.
And we're just going to alternate between child's pose and quadruped,
Flowing through this with your breath.
And starting to make your way onto your back.
And we'll start with some gentle pelvic tilts.
You may even place your hands on your hips.
To feel yourself tucking your pelvis and then relaxing.
Talking.
And relaxing.
And bringing your legs up to tabletop.
And you'll tap one toe down,
Bring it back up,
And then the other toe.
Try and keep your upper body relaxed and stable.
Rolling up into your bridge pose.
And then relaxing your spine down one section at a time.
And now coming into a bridge hinge,
So tapping as you come down and bringing your arms up as you come down.
Mirroring me,
Come to lay down on your left side,
Legs angled towards the front corner of your mat.
Lifting and lowering your right leg,
Pointing your toes as you come up and flexing your foot as you come down.
Now tapping your right toe to the front of your mat and to the back,
Working to try and keep your hips stable.
You can choose whichever arm position is comfortable for you.
You may come to lay all the way down.
It feels really nice.
Bending your right leg,
Putting your right foot in front,
And lifting and lowering your left leg,
Working your inner thigh.
We'll take a nice break here.
So stretching,
Breathing,
Moving in whatever way feels good for you.
And coming to lay down on your right side.
Lifting and lowering your left leg,
Pointing up and flexing down.
And toe taps,
Tapping your left foot to the front of your mat and then to the back.
Working to keep your hips stable.
And now lifting and lowering your right leg,
Working your inner thighs.
To lay down on your belly.
And bringing your hands to the sides of your chest,
Reaching into your hands,
Start to come up into that swan stretch.
Coming up as far as feels good for you.
And now alternating between Child's Pose and then coming to all fours and coming into a Cat-Cow Stretch.
And back to child's pose.
And relaxing back into child's pose.
Breathing and allowing yourself to just melt into the ground.
You might bring your arms to one side and then the other.
Breathing into your side body.
Relaxing.
And softening.
You And let's close with a few moments of stillness and prayer.
As you come into this stillness.
See what naturally arises in your mind and your heart.
What is your prayer today?
Allow that to fill you.
Feeling the peace and the love of a presence that loves you.
Thank you for joining me today.
So much love and I'll see you soon.
