Hi and welcome to this practice of Kapal Bhati Pranayam.
The skull shining red.
It is an invigorating and energizing practice,
But it's not suitable if you are pregnant.
If you have high blood pressure,
Underlying heart or eye conditions.
Or if you've had a recent abdominal surgery.
But if it is suitable,
Then come find a comfortable seat.
Somewhere to be where you can be steady for the next 10 minutes or so Before we begin,
We'll just quickly look at the technique of this breath.
Kapalmati is a series of short,
Sharp exhalations.
The inhale takes care of itself between these exhalations.
Something like.
.
.
So we exhale through the nose.
And just the belly goes in and it's just a forced breath out.
For today's breakfast we'll do three rounds of 36 breaths each,
Starting at the navel.
Bring your hands to the side of the waist.
Pressing gently into the torso.
Feel the pressure of the hands.
On the waist.
And then from here begin 36 rounds of kapal panting breath.
Release the hands.
Take a round of natural breath and out.
Now bring the thumbs under the armpits.
The rest of the fingers can come together to touch.
There is a little pressure where the thumb is pressing under the armpit.
We'll begin 36 rounds here.
Relations.
Take a natural breath.
And let it go For the third round,
Raise the arms overhead.
Find a way to grab the opposite arm.
Maybe you touch the elbows.
Maybe the forearm wherever you are you still have the neck relaxed and loose between the hands and then from here we do 36 rounds Release the hands.
Find your natural breath.
Feeling the energy in your forearms.
In your palms.
Maybe feeling the heart vibrant.
Bring the hands to heart centre.
And we close the practice with a moment of gratitude for ourselves.
For each other and for this practice.
Slowly,
Gently open the eyes.
Thanks again for practicing and I hope you have a wonderful day.
