Welcome to Day 7 of the Gratitude Challenge here on Insight Timer.
This is your daily pause to step out of the rush and pay attention to the small things in your life that often go unseen.
The moments that lift you,
The people who show up for you,
And the sense of enoughness that grows when you make space to notice what is already here.
Enjoy today's session.
Hello and welcome.
This is Anne-Marie.
It's lovely to have you here once more as we travel together through this Insight Timer Challenge,
Gently awakening the heart to gratitude in all its quiet and radiant forms.
I invite you to lie down for this practice.
Make sure you are warm and cosy,
Letting your eyes gently close as your body softens and becomes wholly at ease.
Today,
We invite gratitude to be more than a passing thought,
To become a gentle presence felt through the senses and in connection with the world in which you abide.
Slow down,
Release into this moment and open to the quiet beauty that is ever-present,
The sights,
The sounds,
The subtle aspects of your environment.
Sense your body,
The touch of the earth beneath you.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your breath,
The quiet pulse of life moving through you.
Notice the warmth or coolness of the air against your skin,
The texture of the fabric that envelops you.
Let us be grateful for the comfort of being held,
Supported and embraced by these simple sensations.
Gratitude can be felt and born by the tender love of sound,
Near or far,
Soft or resonant.
Perhaps the sound of your own breathing,
The gentle whisper of breeze through leaves,
The rhythmic hush of the wind's graceful dance,
Distant birdsong lingering softly beyond,
Or simply the quietness of this moment,
The sound of inner silence.
Let us be grateful for the ability to listen and to hear the soft reminder of movement,
Of life continuing in harmony all around us.
Now gently awaken your sense of smell,
Inhale and notice the subtle fragrances that surround you,
Perhaps your freshly brewed chai with warm baked bread,
The crisp clean air as the morning begins,
Or sun-soaked earth after light rain,
Ocean air salty and fresh,
Or herbs and spices,
Mint,
Basil,
Cloves and rosemary,
The soft scent of old books or a scented candle close by,
Or perhaps as dusk emerges the waft of night blooming jasmine.
With softly closed eyes,
Notice shifting colors,
Flickers of light,
Or subtle patterns behind your eyelids.
Imagine opening your eyes and seeing the movement of life in all its luminous grace,
The vastness of the sky,
Drifting clouds,
Soft sunlight,
Or moonlight filtering through your windows.
Allow a wave of gratitude to move through you for this simple gift,
The wonder of beholding both our inner landscapes and the world around us with our eyes.
Perhaps you can trace your last sip of tea,
Chamomile,
Lavender,
Cinnamon,
Or simply taste the freshness of your breath.
Notice how even this quiet sense connects you to nourishment,
To the sweetness of being alive.
Now let all your senses come together,
Touch,
Sound,
Scent,
Sight,
And taste woven into this tapestry of presence.
Rest in these feelings,
Let them expand gently through your chest,
Perhaps as warmth or lightness or soft smiles rising from within.
Let gratitude move through every cell like a quiet current of kindness touching everything it meets.
Rest here,
There's nothing to hold on to,
Just this steady hum of thankfulness,
Alive and present in you.
Keep returning to the quiet language of your senses,
Honoring the beauty they reveal.
As you step into day eight tomorrow,
You'll gently explore how gratitude radiates when shared through kind words,
Thoughtful gestures,
And simple acts of generosity towards others.
Take a long,
Deep breath,
And when you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Carry gratitude in your heart,
Letting it touch every breath,
Every step,
And every thought.
With warmth and love,
This is a gift for you.
