Welcome to this mindfulness practice as we focus on the quality of non-judgment.
When you are truly mindful,
You watch your experiences and thoughts as they pass by you and through you.
You do not dramatise.
It's rather likened to watching a movie,
Scene after scene,
Passing before your eyes.
You observe the story,
But you do not become a part of the plot.
All emotional distractions,
Disturbances and diversions are alleviated,
Revealing clarity and integrity of the situational person.
You are in the present,
And you become acutely aware of how your emotions evolve,
And as a result you recognise how you treat your relationships with those around you,
The world in general,
And most importantly,
Yourself.
Judgment is a conditioned and habitual response to what we suppose is dangerous or safe,
Better or worse,
Good or bad,
Right or wrong,
Fair or unfair,
Do's and don'ts.
When we are imprisoned emotionally by our primitive,
Historic responses,
We cannot grow.
Constantly judging everything we say,
Do and experience is exhausting and often painful,
Not to mention often inaccurate and disparaging.
We become emotionally stuck,
Same patterns,
Same opinions,
Same fatigue,
Same life.
Let us be aware of this constant and useless chatter and take a fresh perspective,
And we do not need to judge our judging.
We simply need to be aware of it and not fall prey to our temptation to indulge.
Be in a warm,
Comfortable place.
Be assured that you have some time to yourself.
Lying down or sitting,
It doesn't matter.
Softly close your eyes.
Feel your limbs becoming heavy,
The body giving way.
Surrender into the earth,
Into the earth that is supporting you.
Melt down through your body as you exhale,
From the top of your head to the tip of your toes.
It's the in-breath that energizes you.
It's the out-breath that soothes you.
Emptial tension,
Fatigue,
Concerns,
Worries and thoughts into stillness.
Rest and breathe with ease.
Feel the body,
Mind and the breath merge into one.
As you inhale,
Feel as though a wave is flowing in,
Up and through your body.
As you exhale,
The wave recedes back down through your body into a peaceful and calm space.
Coming into the present,
Allow your awareness to take you on a journey.
Draw your attention to your face.
Relax the jaw,
Drop the jaw,
And again,
And again.
Soften your cheeks.
Feel the air gently crossing the bridge of your nose.
Soften your eyes.
I am relaxing my face.
I am relaxing my face.
My face is relaxed.
If you find you are bringing judgment into your practice,
Just draw your attention back to the breath.
Your mind will play.
It will frolic about.
But it will soon give up when it recognizes you are not paying it attention.
I know I am breathing in.
I know I am breathing out.
I am aware of my thoughts.
I am aware of my thoughts.
I observe my thinking.
I observe my thinking.
I release my thoughts.
I release my thoughts.
I pause to rest.
I pause.
I pause.
Is the mind wandering again?
Reach out and bring it back to the now,
Back to the present.
I am aware of my body.
I am aware of my body.
I observe my body.
I observe my body.
I am aware of my heart beating.
I am aware of my heart beating.
Beating.
Beating.
I observe the sounds around me.
I sense the space that surrounds me.
I pause.
Pause.
Pause.
I release my opinions.
I see clearly.
Clearly.
Clearly.
I observe what unfolds.
I observe what unfolds.
Observe.
Observe.
Peace.
Peace.
I shall remain silent for a little while.
As you remain in this moment in harmony.
Peace.
Quiet.
You will soon hear my voice again.
Enjoy.
Is the mind wandering again?
If so,
Just gently guide it back.
Back to the present.
Draw it back to this incredible moment.
I am aware of my thoughts.
I am aware of my thoughts.
I observe my thinking.
I observe my thinking.
I release my thoughts.
I release my thoughts.
I pause.
Pause.
Pause.
I am aware of my body.
I am aware of my body.
I observe my body.
I observe my body.
I am at peace.
I am at peace.
Peace.
Gently bring your hands towards your heart now and place one over the other.
Scan your body and notice where it is beautifully calm and peaceful.
Can you sense the space in which you reside?
Gently open your eyes.
Take your time.
And perhaps awaken your body with a long deep stretch.
The ability to observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence.
Krishnamurti.
Slow down.
Breathe with ease.
Still your mind.
Be kind to yourself and all other beings.
Om Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Peace.
Peace.
Peace.
