Hello welcome back my name is Annabelle and today we're going to be looking at the sacral chakra.

The sacral chakra is located just below your belly button and it's usually linked with the color orange.

The sacral chakra is also known as the svarasthana chakra.

This chakra is responsible for our feelings of pleasure,

Of creativity,

Of sexuality,

Of passion and this is the first feminine chakra that we have.

The root chakra was masculine and this being the second is the first feminine.

The root chakra is more about creating and then the sacral chakra is all about receiving.

You look at creativity,

At passion,

At pleasure,

It is something that you have to receive you can't necessarily go out and get it.

The sacral chakra is also linked to the mother as it's located right near our belly button which is our first sense of life,

Our life force energy and it's also a really common place for the mother wound to express itself.

And the mother wound is simply unresolved emotion or trauma inherited from the maternal lineage so all your generational trauma from your mother's side.

It can also be in this life's trauma from your mother.

This is also the birthplace of healing anything in regards to that.

The sacral chakra when balanced can look like one of the most beautiful flowing emotional centres and it allows us to be authentic and express ourselves fully.

The sacral chakra is quite closely linked to the throat chakra and that's shown actually in the physical body through the vagus nerves which is our fight or flight response.

So having a balanced sacral chakra is one of the key points of how to express yourself,

Of how to be safe in your body and we do that in the practice that you're going to do in a couple of minutes.

Learning the chanting and learning the mudra of how to balance the chakra.

But let's look at what body part is controlled by the sacral chakra.

So as it is our lower belly we are looking at the urinary system.

It's also linked to the sex organs and your kidneys as well as your lower intestines.

So looking at all these it is quite a lot that is linked to the sacral chakra.

Having an underactive or deficient sacral chakra can mean that you may experience emotional numbness,

A lack of creativity,

Or a lack of desire or maybe even face intimacy issues.

Other people can swing the other way and have an overactive sacral centre.

You can notice this physically when someone is walking and they're leading with that lower belly.

You can notice that it is their pleasure that is driving them.

It can lead to a lack of impulse control as well as having excessive emotional attachment.

And because there's too much emotion in the area it can lead to huge mood swings and not actually understanding your own body.

But just acting out of them.

A balanced root chakra is understanding your emotions,

Understanding that you deserve pleasure and you are worthy of it.

However it doesn't control you or define you.

When we look at the beliefs around the sacral chakra it is a lot about feeling safe in our body but also trusting our creativity,

Trusting that our emotions are teaching us something and that it's also okay to have emotions.

By starting to understand the power of the sacral centre and how to balance it you will not be controlled by your pleasure.

You aren't going to be following every single emotional desire or acting out of your emotions.

Instead you'll live in a state of emotional awareness,

Of joy and of pleasure without having to chase it.

Now learn to balance it in the mudra meditation.
