This guided meditation helps you connect with and balance your Root Chakra (Muladhara), located at the base of the spine. It is the foundation of your energetic body, governing safety, stability, survival, and your connection to the physical world. You’ll visualize a grounding red light and chant the seed sound “LAM” to activate and harmonize this energy center. The meditation ends with affirmations that strengthen your inner sense of security and rootedness. This practice supports you during times of anxiety, fear, disconnection, or instability—whether emotional, physical, or financial. It also helps if you feel overly attached to material things, rigid in thinking, or reactive. A balanced Root Chakra brings groundedness, feeling supported by life, present in your body, and safe in the world. This is the first meditation in a seven-part chakra series. For best results, practice once a week to align and balance your energy system. Image Credit: By Geralt via Pixabay

Hello wonderful being,

Thank you for choosing me to be your guide today.

So begin by coming into a comfortable seated posture,

Making sure that your spine is aligned,

Keeping your back straight,

But not very stiff,

So you will notice that there is a slight curve in your spine.

And then keeping your head in alignment with your spine,

You can keep your hands either on your knees or in your lap,

Whatever feels comfortable to you.

And whenever you are ready,

You can either close your eyes all the way down,

Or you can just lower your gaze,

Looking two or three feet in front of you on the floor,

Just like me.

This is to limit any form of visual distraction,

So that you can turn your attention inward.

So as your attention is turned inward,

Allow it to rest on your breath,

Noticing the air flowing in and out of the body.

With each breath,

Allow yourself to arrive in this present moment,

Allowing yourself to relax more and more with each breath.

Now bring your attention to the base of your spine,

And imagine a deep red light glowing there,

At the base of your spine.

This is your root chakra,

Your center of safety,

Stability and belonging.

With each exhale,

Feel this red light gently expanding,

Grounding you into the earth below.

So sinking your breath and holding both your breath and the base of your spine in your awareness,

And allowing this red light to gently expand with each breath,

Feeling the support of the ground holding you completely.

As you continue to breathe and as this light,

This red light expands more and more,

Imagine yourself breathing in and out of this root chakra.

So with each inhale,

You supply it the energy,

And with each exhale,

You allow it to grow more within you.

In a few moments from now,

We are going to recite the beej mantra of this root chakra.

So the mantra is LAM.

This is the seed sound of the root chakra.

Feel free to either repeat with me out loud or to repeat silently in your mind.

So what we are going to do is we are going to take a deep breath in,

Filling our lungs with that air,

And as we exhale,

We are going to recite the mantra LAM for the whole duration of the exhale.

Like this,

Inhaling,

And then recite with the exhale LAM.

So let's start.

LAM Feeling the vibrations within your body.

LAM Planning your body from head to toe.

Feeling the vibrations within.

In a moment,

We are going to go for another round of the mantra.

And now what we are going to do is with each inhale,

I invite you to imagine that you are inhaling directly into the root chakra at the base of your spine.

And as you exhale with the mantra,

Visualize the red light growing stronger and forming roots from the base of your spine down to the earth.

So with each LAM or with each breath,

Your roots gets deeper into the earth,

Providing you with a sense of stability,

Safety and groundedness.

So let's start.

LAM Wonderful.

Noticing how the sound has cleared any fear,

Restlessness or insecurity within you.

As you feel the residual vibrations,

Allowing yourself to awaken to the truth that you are supported.

You are grounded.

You belong.

If you feel called to,

You can even repeat the following statements after me.

I am safe.

I am grounded.

I trust life.

I trust myself.

Now,

Allowing your awareness to rest on your breath.

Feeling the air flowing in and out.

Noticing if the breath is any different from the one that you had at the start of this practice.

Similarly,

Noticing your body and seeing if your body is any different than before.

Noticing can you still feel the vibrations within your body.

Knowing that you can always ground yourself by bringing your awareness to your root chakra and imagining the roots growing out of the chakra,

Out of the spine and connecting you with the earth.

So with that in mind,

Allow yourself to come out of this practice by beginning to wiggle your toes and your fingers.

Awakening your body and finally opening your eyes.

Noticing the environment around you.

Welcome back.

Thank you for listening and I will see you soon.

Bye-bye.

Take care.
