Welcome to this guided meditation.
Today's meditation is quite special for me.
It's one that I've used just at different times in my life and I found it quite motivating,
Especially at times when I've just been not in a place where I've been inspired or I've had writer's block or just going through a rough time and it's helped me just put one front in front of the other and get a sense of gratitude and appreciation and so I really hope this also inspires you too and just with a fresh perspective like it has for me so go ahead and get comfortable close your eyes and just take a deep breath in.
And out.
And before we do anything else,
I want you to just think about how old you are right now.
So whatever that age is,
Just say it to yourself in your head.
I am blank years old.
Now really let yourself feel that for a moment.
Just what's it like to be in your body at this age?
And what do you feel about your life right now,
Just in general?
Do you feel satisfied,
Disappointed,
Just whatever comes to mind?
And think about how you typically spend your days.
If you're rushed.
If you tend to be unmotivated,
Maybe lack of energy,
A little bit lazy.
If you end up being distracted.
Productive,
Just kind of think about how you typically spend your days.
Now I want you to imagine something.
So imagine that now you've woken up.
And you are 20 years older.
So I want you to think about what that age is.
20 years older.
Right now I am blank years old.
So thinking about that age,
Now notice what is it like to be in this body?
Maybe your body doesn't move quite the same as it used to.
Maybe a different level of energy.
And as you're sitting there and you're thinking about this age,
What it's like in your body now,
And what your life is like,
You take a look around.
You see who is around in your life and maybe you've lost some loved ones.
Maybe you've lost a pet.
Maybe people have moved out of your home.
Maybe there's been some big changes in your life.
And I want you to start thinking just,
Wow,
I wish I'd appreciated things more.
I wish I'd appreciated people more and the opportunities that I had with my time.
So just let yourself think about that for just a moment.
What are some things that you miss now being 20 years older?
And who do you miss in your life?
That you really wish you could have had another day with them or really been able to put the distractions down and make more eye contact with them,
Really get curious about the things that they had to say or the stories that they shared,
Even if it was repeated.
Who do you wish that you had called more?
What are some things that you wish you would have done?
What are things you wish you would have tried and maybe you were just too scared?
What are things that you had procrastinated on and you wish that you had finally gotten to?
What are things you wish you had completed?
Maybe you started them and never finished or followed through.
What are things that you had stopped yourself from for fear of judgment or failure?
And think about all those little things that just took up so much of your time.
Maybe all the hours distracted,
Scrolling on your phone or watching shows or saying,
I'll do it tomorrow,
I'll do it next week.
Maybe just being too tired or complacent.
And maybe always waiting for the perfect time.
And just thinking,
I had so much time.
Why didn't I realize how much time I had?
And just sit with that for a moment.
Imagine what that feels like to wish you had done things or spent more time with people or really just sat and listened to them.
Taking a deep breath in.
And exhaling out.
Now I want you to imagine that you get to have one more day back in that body that was 20 years younger.
Just one day.
And you wake up it's a fresh new day and you're 20 years younger again.
You're seeing the day,
The world through the eyes of your 20-year-old older self.
And you're in this body that's younger,
Your legs work better,
Your body moves with more ease,
You have that energy that you haven't had in decades.
Give people around you who you love who are still here.
And you know that you only get this one day,
One time.
So what do you do with it?
What do you do with this day?
Who do you want to see today?
Who do you want to make sure that you pick up the phone and you call?
What do you finally want to do?
What is something that you've been putting off that you want to make sure to take action on?
What is something that you actually want to follow through on?
That you never finished.
Maybe you would put your phone down.
Maybe you'd actually go outside.
Maybe you'd play with the kids in your life,
The pets in your life.
Is there someone that you'd want to hug a little bit longer?
Would you take a trip?
Would you finally do that thing that you've been saying that you're gonna do?
So whatever it is,
Just imagine doing it.
But just for today.
You get to be that older version of yourself with the wisdom,
With the appreciation.
In the body that you have now.
And maybe tomorrow you can go back to your normal life.
But just for today,
You know something that you didn't know before.
And you have this fresh perspective of gratitude and appreciation.
And you know how precious this version of yourself actually is.
20 years younger,
You take a deep breath.
And you remind yourself that this is your life.
This is your body.
These are the people in your life.
These are the opportunities that you have.
This is your day today.
You don't have to change everything or figure out everything.
But you don't have to just wait for some day in the future and put everything off.
And you can do something today that your future self will probably be really glad that you did.
So take one more deep breath in,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and see what happens today,
What you choose to do with it.
Thank you so much for listening.
