Discover chanting meditation with this mantra: "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo". The meaning behind this mantra is"Devotion to the Mystic Law of the Lotus Sutra". This mantra has been sung by the famous Tina Turner. It is thus a vow, an expression of determination, to embrace and manifest our Buddha nature. It is a pledge to oneself to never yield to difficulties and to win over one’s suffering, and a vow to help others reveal this law in their own lives and achieve happiness.

Today's mantra comes from Buddhism,

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo,

Provided by Nichiren in his teachings and famously sung by Tina Turner,

Chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is also a practical way to awaken the power of the law of life in ourselves.

It simply means I devote myself to the mystic law of the Lotus Sutra.

The chant itself is said to be the most positive of all the mantras and it's meant to bring positive effects in your life.

Just so you know,

You don't have to know how to sing to do this practice.

I honestly have no idea how to sing and if it's easier for you,

You can chant in your mind.

But before chanting our mantra,

Let's find a comfortable position where your spine is straight,

Your back is nice and tall and you can rest your hands wherever it feels comfortable.

Let's take a deep inhale for 1,

2,

3,

4 and 5 and a slow exhale for 5,

4,

3,

2 and 1.

Inhale and exhale.

One more time,

Deep inhale and a long exhale.

And now you can let your breath be natural and easy.

We will now chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo for the next 2 to 3 minutes.

You can take some poses in between.

The more important thing here is to let the mantra resonate with you and feel the vibrations of your vocal cords,

The vibrations the sound makes in your body and visualize the positive effects it can do in your life.

And so we start now.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Let's take a deep inhale for 1,

2,

3,

4 and 5 and a long exhale for 5,

4,

3,

2 and 1.

Inhale and exhale.

So how was your experience with this mantra meditation?

Try this mantra for a week or so,

Chanting every day and if you still feel like you don't resonate with it,

That's okay.

You can choose your favorite word or phrase or prayer or you can also listen to Tina Turner's version.

I'm pretty sure she sings better than I do.

In the meantime,

I will see you tomorrow for the 16th.

Namaste.
