So sitting down and making yourself comfortable,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a gentle deeper breath in and out,
And closing your eyes,
Allowing the eyes to rest and relax,
And connecting with your breath,
Noticing the flow in and down and up and out,
Noticing how the breath takes you deeper within.
For many of us,
When we are anxious or stressed,
The things that we have to do in life seem overwhelming,
Tasks and chores,
So many things on our list.
Being mindful with what we have to do develops a sense of calm,
Centred patience.
You may remember a time where you had a huge list of things to do,
But you felt completely grounded and in control,
And that list just seemed to tick itself off.
In fact,
I'm sure you remember times where you finished your list and realised you had so much time left.
Developing a sense of mindful patience is wonderful when we have a list of things to do.
Imagine yourself with a list in front of you,
With your feet on the floor and your hands on your lap,
And just breathing,
Just noticing,
Realising that you can do things easily,
And effortlessly,
That once you've done one thing,
The list becomes shorter and shorter.
Your shoulders start to drop,
Your mind starts to quieten,
And when it does,
It opens to all the skills,
Abilities,
Resources and strength that you have always had.
This list is going to be easy to work through,
Now in a mindful manner,
And with that thought in mind you can have a little stretch,
A deeper breath in and out,
And open your eyes,
Coming back to the day.
