Let's begin by having you take in some nice big deep breaths.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
With the next out breath,
Just gently close the eyes.
And start to feel the weight of the body.
Feel the temperature upon your skin.
Notice the points of contact between your feet and the floor.
And the hands and the arms resting on the legs.
Perhaps just noticing any sounds.
Bringing your awareness to your physical senses.
Now just bring your attention even more in the direction of your body.
As you scan down from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Noticing any areas that feel particularly relaxed or not so relaxed.
And just noticing your overall mood as you now gently shift your focus to the rise and the fall of the breath.
As you become increasingly comfortable in following the natural rhythm of the breath.
I'd just like you to imagine now that there's a steady downward flow of light just above your head.
Like a liquid sunshine that is pouring down over you.
It's very smooth.
Very warm.
It's very nurturing.
And it's very bright.
It flows down through the top of the head into the body and around your body as it travels all the way down.
Just melting away any tension,
Relaxing away any tightness.
You can just follow it as it travels down through the body.
Washing down towards the feet.
You're just feeling it as it fills up the toes one by one.
Then it starts to travel up through the feet,
The heels,
The ankles,
Calves and continues upward towards the knees.
Washing away any tension.
Bringing relaxation into every fiber of your being.
Now focus on the spaciousness and warmth that this sunlight brings you as it continues up through the thighs,
Hip and the pelvic area.
Sense that steady flow rising through the body.
Just melting away any tension.
As it continues up through the waist.
Now the stomach,
The lower back.
Just melting away any tension.
It easily and naturally continues to flow up now through the chest and the upper back area.
It rises all the way up to the top of the shoulders and spills down both of the arms into each of the hands.
Washing up one finger at a time,
Rising through the hands and wrists and elbows.
Just melting away tension as it continues to move now up through the neck and the throat area.
On the jaw,
Cheeks,
All the muscles in and around the face.
Until it gets to the very crown of the head.
The entire body now is glistening,
Full of that very spacious clear feeling that simply continues to flow downwards.
Now you can just let go of any focus for a moment and allow the mind to rest in that space of comfort and peacefulness.
