It has been said that the greatest distance one can travel is the 18 inches from the head to the heart.

Today you'll be taking that inward journey as we'll be focusing on the heart quality of appreciation and inspiring deep appreciation to flow within and without.

Begin to settle in and withdraw your attention from the outside world.

This time right now is yours and you can begin by giving yourself permission to turn inward by bringing your awareness to your breath.

Feel the flow of the breath moving through you as you focus on the sensation of each inhale and each exhale.

Go ahead and close your eyes down as you invite the body to relax even further.

Relaxing deeper into the surface that supports you as you allow your body to become more calm and settled.

This is a wonderful opportunity to check in and make sure that you are not holding onto anything that's bringing the body tension or stress.

As you breathe slowly and deeply scan your body,

Taking the time to soften any tightness or tension.

Taking a deep breath in and let it go as you release any tension.

Another deep inhale and a slow exhale,

Releasing tightness.

Once more,

Slow breath in.

Hold for a few moments as you reach the top of the breath and then let it out in a sigh of relief as you're letting go and letting go.

Now,

Shift your attention to your thoughts.

You may notice that as your body is growing more relaxed,

Your mind is following suit.

Slow breaths in and long breaths out as your thoughts continue to grow more quiet.

Deep breath in and release,

Letting go of scattered thoughts.

Another slow inhale and long exhale,

Releasing once again.

Letting go.

Encourage the sensations of relaxation to wash over you.

One more deep breath in.

Hold for a few moments and let it go,

Bringing deeper stillness to the mind.

Now,

I would like you to shift your attention to your chest.

Feeling easily,

Focus on the heart.

You may place one or both hands on the chest if you would like,

Feeling each heartbeat,

Hearing each heartbeat.

Placing hands upon the chest as a way of indicating to yourself that you are honoring the same sacred heart within.

Simply connecting with this miraculous life-giving organ that senses and feels and even remembers through specialized neurons,

Much like brain neurons.

Feel its aliveness.

What thoughts come up for you as you connect to your heart?

What feelings or sensations arise?

Positive or negative,

Allow everything to arise up to the surface.

Imagine a bright emerald green light begins to glow from within,

Glowing from inside of the heart.

Imagine what does it look like?

What does it feel like?

Is it subtle or strong?

This is the energy of care and compassion.

Imagine the emerald green glowing with warmth,

Making its way through all of the chambers,

Vessels and cells of the heart,

Purifying and healing every tissue and fiber,

Offering compassion to everything it touches.

Seeing the light on old hurts,

Releasing past grudges,

Clearing away old debris and anything that brings heaviness to the heart.

Light that green light to intuitively do what it knows how to do best.

Allow its healing work to spread,

Purifying,

Awakening and energizing every cell and fiber.

Imagine this green light ushering in new life like new buds are shooting up through the spring soil,

With the beauty of tulips and daisies which are responding to the invitation to be born anew in the garden of your heart.

Breathe in the aroma,

The freshness of the morning air sparkling with fresh dew and morning sunlight,

Feeling grateful for its presence,

Breathing in new life,

Breathing in compassion,

Breathing in harmony,

Healing and rejuvenation.

Now envision this emerald green light begins glowing from your chest and spreading throughout your body.

With the next few deep breaths,

Feel the life that your newly awakened heart has to offer your body.

Feel the emerald green expanding with breaths of gratitude,

Saturating the body,

Mind and spirit.

Feel the green with its warmth and care healing all the shadows of the heart,

Relieving it of any heaviness,

Filling it with courage and strength.

The green becoming more rich and vibrant with each inhale and going deeper into the heart with each exhale.

Inhaling,

Breathing deeply into the chest and exhaling,

Feeling the green flow through the heart and the lungs.

Another inhale deepening the color and exhale feeling it heal and strengthen the heart.

When your heart is healed and open,

It becomes easier to let love in.

It becomes easier to love your life.

Using breathwork and visualization,

You have now reached a state of open-hearted awareness.

Start with this awareness,

Taking note of how you feel right now in this moment.

Hold your hands to your chest,

Once again noticing your heartbeat.

How does your heart feel now?

Sit in stillness for the next few moments,

Continuing to allow gratitude to pour into the heart.

Now release the colors,

Letting the green fade into white and then disappear completely with your next long exhale.

Bring your awareness back to your surroundings,

Opening your eyes when you're ready and giving your body a nice long stretch.

It is so meaningful for this opportunity to heal the heart.
