Welcome to this practice on unburdening a part inside of you.
We have many different parts inside of us,
And they are all here serving their unique purpose,
Helping us one way or another.
And sometimes our parts can carry a lot.
They can have a lot of responsibilities,
A lot of burdens that weigh heavily on their shoulders.
And in this practice,
We will help a part unburden.
We will change the role of a part if they are open to that.
And so even if your intention is to change a part,
To help them unburden,
Exchange their burden for a blessing,
And help them feel lighter,
I feel you,
You have good intentions towards them.
However,
Working with our parts,
Even though we have an agenda,
It's not always received well,
Or perhaps the part isn't willing or ready to trade their burden for a blessing yet.
So I invite you to remain open-minded,
Even though you have a good intention in helping this part unburden.
I invite you to remain open and respectful to your part in giving it what they need.
And with that being said,
I invite you to bring your awareness to a thought,
A sensation,
Or an emotion to the part that you wish to work with today.
What do you feel?
What do you see?
Allow your breath to be a vessel to go deeper within.
Every inhale takes you deeper inside of yourself.
And every exhale creates a little bit more space,
A little bit more room inside.
And after you've found your part,
Can you observe what they are like?
How do they look like?
In what state is this part?
And can you let this part know that you are here with them,
That you are here,
Ready to listen and just be with them?
How is your presence received?
And now you can ask this part if there is anything they want to get off their chest.
Maybe they want to explain what their role is.
Maybe they want to tell you how difficult it has been or how tired that they are.
And can you,
From your self-energy,
Just listen to them without trying to fix or change their experience?
Feeling perhaps your heart opening as you are stepping into that self-energy,
That compassionate,
Calm,
Curious presence.
And after they finish talking,
You can ask them if they enjoy and appreciate their role.
And if not,
Are they open to changing it perhaps?
What do they feel like they are carrying with them as a heavy burden?
Are they open to the idea of releasing this burden over to you?
And during this practice,
If you notice yourself yawning or tearing up,
That's absolutely normal.
It's a sign that your nervous system is balancing here and your part is being heard and finding relief.
And so,
If they are open to giving over this burden to you,
Then you can imagine in your own way that they are taking this burden from their shoulders,
From their chest.
They are taking it from them and giving it over to you.
And you receive it and you touch this burden with the intention of transforming it.
As you touch it with one finger,
This whole burden transforms.
Perhaps into its opposite,
It becomes beautiful,
White light and it has exactly the blessing that this part would like to have instead.
Maybe your part has been carrying a lot of grief,
A lot of pain,
Fear,
Or perhaps shame with them.
And they were finally ready to release that.
And now you can give back this blessing to your part.
And they bring it back into their chest or anywhere in their body and they receive it.
And you observe their reaction to this exchange,
Where first they were carrying a burden with them,
A heaviness,
But they recognized it wasn't them.
And they were ready to let go of that old pain through compassion.
And they recognize that they deserve this blessing.
They are worthy of that.
They are worthy of a new beginning,
A new role.
And so you can ask this part how they feel,
If there are any last things they want to share with you.
And from your open-hearted space,
Perhaps you want to exchange a hug,
Send them some loving kindness.
Thank them for showing up today.
Wish them good luck with their new role,
Their new beginning.
And let them know that you are here and you will check in with them regularly.
And you can gently say goodbye now.
Let this visualization fade away.
And bringing your awareness back into your whole body.
Feeling the contact points of your body and the surface below you.
Coming back to your breath.
And let's take a deep breath together here.
Expanding your belly as you inhale.
And releasing it out through your mouth as you exhale.
And fully coming back into your space.
Into the room that you are in right now.
And gently opening your eyes.
