The sacral chakra is also called svadisthana, the Sanskrit word for “dwelling place of the Self.” The second chakra of the main chakras governs our relationship with change. It is where our deepest desires are located, where we hold our creative potential to enact change and beauty in the world. When we hear of sacral chakra energy, it’s usually connected with sensuality, creativity, and the ways we cultivate joy and abundance in our lives. This meditation's goal is to open your sacral chakra.

Transcript

We are going to start this meditation with a breathing technique called Aayudhanadi breathing or left nostril breathing.

This breathing will help us open up the second chakra as it brings forth lunar energy.

Quickly close your right nostril with your thumb and second finger of your right hand and inhale and exhale through the left nostril.

Do this for 10 breaths.

When you are finished with Aayudhanadi breathing,

Return to your normal breath.

The second chakra,

Svadhisthana,

Is where creative and sexual energy originates.

The second center of force is located in the area above your sexual organs a few inches below your belly button.

The second chakra represents consciousness,

Eroticism,

Imagination,

And is associated with all of your creative potential energy.

Opening your second chakra will bring feelings of wellness,

Abundance,

Pleasure,

And joy.

As we begin our sacral chakra meditation,

I would like for you to find comfort in your space.

Whether it is sitting up or lying down,

Listen to what your body needs of you at this very moment.

Take a deep breath in.

Take a deep breath out.

Now slowly begin to move your focus to your sacral chakra.

Focus on this area around two to three inches below the navel.

Take a deep breath in and send your exhale to the sacral chakra.

Take a deep breath in.

Exhale to the sacral chakra.

Now begin to imagine an orange flower directly located between your belly button and your sacral region.

The orange flower has six petals.

Each petal is a vibrant orange color as bright as the sun and each petal represents obstacles on our own path of development.

We will acknowledge each obstacle and then we will let them go.

The first petal is anger.

Imagine the word anger written on the flower petal.

Acknowledge any feelings or moments of anger that arise at this moment.

Now imagine the word simply disappearing.

A plain orange petal is left in its place.

Look at the next petal.

This petal has the word hate written on it.

Acknowledge any hate that arises.

Now imagine the word simply disappearing.

A bright orange petal is left in its place.

We move on to the next petal.

This petal has the word greed written on it.

Acknowledge any feelings of greed that pop into your mind at this very moment.

Now imagine the word gone.

A plain orange petal is left.

We move on to the next petal.

This petal has the word jealousy written on it.

Acknowledge any jealousy that arises.

Any moments of jealousy you feel.

Now imagine the word disappearing off of the bright orange petal.

Only a plain petal is left.

We look to the next petal.

This petal has the word cruelty written on it.

Acknowledge any cruel thoughts or words you may have used.

Now imagine that word simply disappearing.

A bright plain orange petal is left in its place.

We come to the final petal.

This petal has the word lazy written on it.

Acknowledge any feelings of laziness that arise.

Any moments of lazy behavior.

Acknowledge them.

Now imagine the word simply disappearing.

A plain orange petal is left in its place.

The entire orange flower is whole again.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

Focus on your breath traveling down into the lungs.

Slowly exhale.

Focus on the flower leaving your body.

And as it does,

You feel yourself become more relaxed,

Comfortable,

And at peace.

Now slowly move your focus back to your sacral chakra.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

On your next breath in,

Imagine the flower returning to your sacral area.

The flower is glowing and spiraling and emitting a gorgeous orange light throughout your entire body,

Shooting down your legs all the way to your toes,

Up your belly to your chest,

Orange light moving to your shoulders,

The orange light moving to your neck,

The vibrant orange light moving to your head,

Shooting down your arms to the tips of your fingers.

You are a giant glowing orange light.

In your mind,

Repeat the following.

I love and enjoy my body.

I am open to experiencing the present moment with all of my senses.

I am passionate and have healthy boundaries.

I feel pleasure with every breath I take.

I nourish myself and take care of my needs in only healthy ways.

I value and respect my body and myself.

I embrace change with grace and let go of the past.

I rest peacefully in the present moment.

I experience desire and know that my desire is separate from myself.

Now slowly bring your focus back to the center of your sacral chakra.

Take a deep breath in.

Exhale to your chakra.

And repeat,

My sacral chakra is now open.

Take a deep breath in,

Long breath out.

Begin to let the sounds of the room enter your consciousness.

Let your breathing return to normal.

Touch your thumb to your second finger,

To your third finger,

To your fourth,

To your pinky.

On your other hand,

Touch your thumb to your second finger,

To your third,

To your fourth,

To your pinky.

Begin to wiggle your toes.

Take a deep breath in.

Exhale it out.

And open your eyes.

Absolutely lovely, thank you 🙏 I particularly appreciate that your soft, gentle voice was not overshadowed by background music. In many other sessions the music is the foreground and the teacher's voice is only party audible in the background. Namaste! ♥️
