Namaste and welcome to this meditation for singers.

Find a comfortable position either seated or lying down.

Gently close your eyes if that feels safe or simply soften your gaze.

Allow yourself to release the tensions of the day,

Letting them melt away and take a few moments to connect with your breath,

Your body,

And the beautiful instrument of our voice.

This is a safe space for you,

A sanctuary for your singing spirit.

Bring awareness to your breath and simply notice the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen and chest.

At this time,

Simply observe,

No change,

No judgment.

Feel the air as it enters your nostrils and the air as it leaves.

Notice the coolness of the air as it enters versus the warmth of the air as it leaves.

Take a few breaths,

Observing the difference in temperature.

Imagine your breath like a wave flowing in and out.

With every inhale,

Draw in calm and clear energy.

With every exhale,

Release tension.

Take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs completely.

Hold the breath and slowly exhale.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Hold.

Release.

Inhale.

Hold.

Release.

Next,

Bring your attention to your body.

Notice any sensations in your feet and toes.

Bring your awareness up from the feet to the ankles,

Through the calves and shins,

Up to the knees,

Up through the thighs and hip area,

Your belly,

Your back,

Your chest,

Fingertips,

Hands,

Up through the wrists,

The elbows,

The shoulders,

Your neck,

Your ears,

Your face,

And your entire head.

Notice where your body has contact with the ground or the support beneath you.

Notice any areas of tension or discomfort.

Send the calmness of your breath to those areas.

Release any tension.

Now bring your attention to your voice.

Imagine your vocal cords as a delicate instrument ready to create beautiful sounds.

If you feel comfortable,

Hum a soft note or simply imagine it silently.

Feel the vibrations in your throat and chest.

Notice the resonance of the sound within you and how your body acts as a resonating chamber.

Imagine your voice as a stream of pure energy flowing freely and effortlessly.

Visualize yourself singing with confidence,

Ease,

And joy.

See yourself connecting with your audience,

Expressing yourself authentically through your unique voice.

Repeat these affirmations.

My voice is strong and clear.

I sing with confidence and joy.

My voice is a gift that I share with the world.

Bring your awareness back to your surroundings,

Back to the present moment,

Back to this space.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Take your hands to heart.

Set the intention of carrying this sense of calm and clarity with you throughout your day.

Knowing that your voice is a powerful and beautiful instrument.

It is a gift meant to be shared.

Thank you for meditating with me.

The light in me honors the light in you.

Namaste.
