Welcome to this meditation for inner strength and resilience.

There are times in life when things don't go to plan.

When we are faced with uncertainty,

Loss or challenges that appear to be insurmountable.

It can feel overwhelming and like there is no way forward.

These are times when we most need to access our inner strength and courage.

The part of us that won't give up and refuses to be broken down.

Take a moment now to find a comfortable seated position with a straight back,

Upright spine.

Gently close the eyes and bring your attention to the sensation of your breath.

Notice where you feel the breath most clearly,

The tip of the nose,

The chest or perhaps your belly.

Take in a deep full breath and then slowly exhale.

As you release breath from the body,

You allow yourself to completely relax.

If the mind feels busy or you find your mind wandering,

Use your breath as an anchor to return you back to the present moment.

As you breathe out,

Let go of anything that might be weighing you down.

With every exhalation,

You feel yourself becoming lighter.

Feeling heavy or tight is simply evaporating away.

Feel the muscles loosen around your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your face and your jaw.

Allow all the muscles to become soft,

Loose and relaxed.

Your neck,

Your shoulders and chest are relaxed.

Your lower body is relaxed.

Your thighs,

Legs and feet are completely relaxed.

Continue to breathe.

In this state of deep relaxation and calm,

Allow the image to form in your mind of the most magnificent,

Beautiful mountain you have ever seen.

Letting it gradually come into greater focus,

Its lofty peak high in the sky.

You see a path towards this mountain and start to walk one step at a time.

You reach the base of the mountain and look up.

The scale and size is breathtaking.

You feel compelled to start to climb,

One step after another,

Moving higher and higher up the mountain.

With each step forward,

You feel stronger and more motivated to reach the top.

As you continue to climb,

The mountain gets steeper and rockier and more difficult to scale.

It's taking all your strength to pull yourself up.

You are now halfway up the mountain and you take a moment to pause and look at the view around you.

The sight fills your heart with joy.

You can see far and wide.

You feel limitless and expansive.

This incredible view fills your heart with a renewed sense of determination to reach the summit.

Your body is aching but you continue to climb.

Slow and steady,

One step at a time.

The climb becomes even more difficult as you get closer to the top.

Sharp rocks jut out and there is a strong wind blowing now.

The climb is starting to feel painful.

Each step forward is a challenge but you find the strength within to keep going.

There is something within you pushing you forward and you repeat to yourself,

I am strong.

I am capable.

I can overcome this challenge.

I am strong.

I am capable.

I can overcome this challenge.

I am strong.

I am capable.

I can overcome this challenge.

Finally you reach the summit.

The top of the mountain is calm and quiet.

You look around and take in the most beautiful scene.

The sun is shining and the clouds have dissipated.

Your heart is bursting with joy.

You feel so proud of yourself.

You feel strong and courageous.

There is no challenge you can't overcome.

You will carry this sense of inner strength with you for the rest of your life.

Take a deep full breath in and a full breath out.

Slowly bringing movement back to your body.

Bringing awareness back to your space.

And when you are ready,

Gently open your eyes.
