Evening Meditation.
Close your eyes and breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Relax.
Find the rhythm of your breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
See yourself as you were today,
At your desk,
Working,
Or in the hallway at school,
Engaging with a customer or a colleague,
Cleaning the house and caring for your children.
Maybe there was a moment where you felt emotional today,
Frustrated,
Or scared,
Or sad.
Maybe today was a really good day.
Keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Picture yourself as you were today.
Now take the bird's eye view and zoom out.
See yourself as one of many at your job.
Notice how many people there are in your school,
In your neighborhood.
See all of the people going about their day,
Moving about in their lives.
Now zoom out further.
How many people live in your town,
In your city,
In your state or country?
You may be one of millions.
See everyone milling about,
Living their lives.
They have worries too.
They have hopes and dreams,
Joy and excitement.
They laugh and they cry.
They have fears just like you.
Keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Zoom out again.
See the planet Earth.
You are one of billions of people on the planet right now.
Each of you going about your lives doing the best you can.
You are all connected.
You are all one.
Keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
See how beautiful the planet is.
She supports all of us without asking for anything in return.
She is our home.
She is our mother.
Say thank you to her.
Thank you to mother Earth.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Wiggle your toes.
Feel them connected to the floor beneath your feet.
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
Imagine that roots start to grow from your feet.
They slowly grow through the carpet,
Through the floor,
Down through the foundation of your building.
They keep growing deeper and deeper.
Through the surface of the Earth,
Down past the roots of the trees,
Through the layers of rock and dirt,
Continuing down,
Growing to the center of the Earth.
Mother Earth gladly lets you connect your roots to her core.
Say thank you to her.
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
Now keeping yourself rooted to the Earth,
Bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Feel the day starting to slip from your body.
The stress.
The worry.
The anxiety and the doubt.
Let it slip down your head.
Feel the tension leaving your shoulders.
Your back.
And your chest.
Maybe you didn't get everything accomplished today that you wanted to.
Let it go.
Maybe you have regrets or wish it had happened differently.
It is done.
Let it go.
Feel the day washing away.
Through your torso and your arms.
Slipping through your hips and your pelvis.
Let it go.
Down through your legs,
Past your knees.
Let it go.
Feel the day sliding down past your ankles and leaving your body through the roots on your feet.
Let Mother Earth take it all from you.
Empty yourself into her.
Let it go through your roots.
Let it go.
Keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Mother Earth has taken it all from you.
This day is done.
Let it go.
You can try again tomorrow.
But for now,

Slowly begin to pull up your roots.
Feel the peace and stillness coming back into your body.
