This is a cord cutting meditation.
First,
Start by bringing your body into a comfortable position.
So you can be lying down or sitting upright,
Whatever feels best for you.
And then I like to begin my cord cutting ceremonies with a little prayer and I like to close them with one,
Two.
So we're just going to ask that the highest truth,
Love,
Compassion supports us today,
Protects us,
And guides us throughout our little journey.
And so it is.
Take a deep breath in,
Allow your chest,
Your rib cage to really expand,
And breathe out.
Allow it to empty.
Inhale,
Inhale,
Fill all the way up into the belly.
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale.
Allow your breath to pull you into your body.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Keep this cycle of breath going.
And start to bring your awareness into your imagination.
With your imagination,
Bring yourself into a safe place.
So this could be inside,
Maybe in your house or your bedroom.
It could be outside,
At the beach,
In the mountains,
In a forest,
Or somewhere completely made up.
So just let your imagination show you and go with that.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
And then let your imagination show you.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
And then call forward the person or people that you're having a cord cutting with today.
See if they come forward.
And let your imagination fill in all the details,
From the body language,
To the clothes they might be wearing,
To the facial expressions.
You can get as detailed as you'd like here.
If they showed up,
Thank them for showing up for this work today.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
And then start to bring your awareness to the cords.
And then let your imagination show you.
And then start to bring your awareness to the cords.
When you gaze down from your body to the person across from you,
How many cords do you see?
Where do you see them attached on your body and on the other person's?
Allow the details to fill in.
Do the cords have a certain color?
Texture?
How thick are they?
Just notice the cords and take a deep breath in and breathe out.
And then let your imagination show you.
Next you're going to move forward with either cutting the cord or pulling the attachment on yourself up and out of your body.
If you decide to cut the cord,
Pick your tool of choice.
Whether that be a knife,
A pair of scissors,
Or fire or flame to burn.
And then imagine yourself separating the cord.
If you choose to go the other route and pull the cord attachment out of your body,
Pull it all the way out,
Almost like as if you were pulling out weeds from the earth.
Make sure you get the whole root and stem.
We don't leave any pieces behind,
Any attachments behind.
Use your imagination as you do this.
Breathe into it and feel the release.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
And after the cord cutting is complete,
Check in with yourself.
See if anything else needs done.
See if anything else is needed.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
One last time thanking yourself and the person or people who participated for showing up,
For showing up for this great work.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
Keep breathing and bring little movements into your fingertips,
Into your toes,
Coming back into your body.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes to the room.
