This is a guided cord cutting meditation for shame.

Shame is the sneaky pattern that keeps us unconsciously looping and swimming in unwanted self-destructive beliefs and behaviors.

It keeps us blocked,

Weighed down,

And prevents us from allowing what we desire most to come through.

Shame is a defense mechanism.

It's like a cement lid that prevents us from having full access to other unprocessed feelings and traumas that wish to be acknowledged and healed.

It can leave us feeling constantly stuck,

Trapped,

And victimized in our human experiences.

Shame is insidious,

And it is learned.

We most likely picked it up somewhere in our earlier childhood years of development,

And have continued to play out the cycle until we hit a bottom with it.

The first step towards change is acknowledgement and leaning into the acceptance around that.

You are doing just that today.

This is big work,

And I commend you for initiating a change,

As this cord cutting is a form of energy work,

Boundary setting,

And self-care.

This work will bring you more awareness and more choice around reactive patterns that you didn't know you had a choice in.

This is an act of self-love and personal healing.

We will now begin.

Start by bringing your body into a comfortable position.

This can be seated or lying down.

Tune into your body.

Allow yourself to arrive here fully.

Bring your awareness to your breathing and feel your body breathe.

As you breathe in,

Allow your chest,

Rib cage,

And belly to expand.

And as you breathe out,

Allow your chest,

Rib cage,

And belly to empty.

Follow your own comfortable breath.

We'll start by giving you some grounding.

Imagine a big ball of diamond light in the center of your chest.

From that ball of light drops a cord of light that travels down through the base of your spine,

Out of your body,

And anchors into the center of the earth.

Feel this grounding and support beneath you.

Take a breath in and breathe out.

Then move back into the center of your chest with the ball of light and with your imagination picture a doorway appear in front of you.

You walk up to the door,

Open it,

And when you step through to the other side,

It brings you to a place that you feel completely safe in.

Allow the scenery to take form all around you.

You can get as detailed as you'd like.

Next,

We are going to call forward some support.

This could be a spirit team,

A spirit guide or animal,

A higher power,

A deceased ancestor,

A friend,

Your higher self,

Or anything or anyone that makes you feel supported.

Call this support forward and allow.

Feel it.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Now we will call the shame forward.

Tune in and see if you can intuitively locate where the shame is stored within your physical body.

Scan your body from head to toes and ask the shame to come forward.

Start to tune into the sensations that you feel in your body.

There may be more than one spot that you identify.

What does the shame feel like in your body?

Does it have a texture?

A color?

What about a temperature?

Allow yourself to fully identify this shame.

Take a breath in.

And breathe out.

Now that you have identified the shame,

Take a big breath in and scoop all the shame up with your breath.

And as you breathe out,

Use your mouth to blow the shame outside of your body.

Start to visualize the shame across from you outside of your body.

Intuitively tune in to what you see and feel as you face the shame with acceptance.

Remember that you are deeply supported and safe.

Begin to tune in and identify if you see any energetic cords attached from your body to the shame that's across from you.

You may see more than one cord.

See which parts of your body these cords are attached to.

Notice all the details of the cords.

What do they look like?

What is the color?

What's the texture?

Are they thick or are they thin?

Breathe in.

And breathe out.

We will now begin the cord cutting ceremony.

Cough forward your tool of choice.

This could be a knife,

Fire,

A sword,

A big pair of scissors,

Or maybe something I didn't mention that you'd like to use.

Remember that you are completely safe and supported.

When you are ready,

Begin to cut the cords.

Breathe and feel as you cut through them.

Allow any information to intuitively come forward along the way.

When you are finished cutting,

Look down at your body where the cord attachments still might be hanging out,

And reach in and pull these attachments out like you would pull roots out of the ground.

Toss the leftover attachments off to the side,

And begin to burn them with some fire to transform the energy.

Then you bury the ashes in the earth to be recycled.

As you look across at the shame,

You see that it has faded away and left the space completely.

Place your hands on your heart and breathe here for a moment.

Thank yourself for showing up for the great work today.

Take a breath in,

And breathe out.

Bring yourself back to the doorway that you entered through,

And walk back through to the other side,

Where you find yourself in that beautiful bright light that sits in the center of your chest.

Breathe in,

And breathe out.

Allow the images to slowly fade as you start to tune into your physical body.

Tune into your whole body.

Notice the temperature on your skin,

Or any other sensations.

Notice the support beneath you.

Bring any little movements in that might feel good.

And whenever you're ready,

You can open your eyes to the room.

It might be nice to journal your experiences down on paper to ground and reflect on throughout the rest of your day.

This was incredible, thank you. I woke up with my entire body cringing with Shame and looping negative thoughts. I put 100% effort into this meditation and right before I “cut the cords” I experienced an unexpected physiological reaction (sorry to overshare but suddenly felt like I was going to be sick, and my body temperature quickly shot up). Soon after cutting the cords attached to my body (mine were like sliced white onions) my body temperature instantly dropped and the urge to be sick left me…incredible thank you for this. I suddenly feel lighter and the cringing sensation is gone for now
