This is a heart chakra meditation.
The chakra system can be viewed as our spiritual nervous system.
Just like we tune into the physical body for feedback,
We can tune into the chakra system for intuitive guidance and self-care.
The heart chakra can be found in the center of the chest,
The sternum area,
Not far from our actual heart.
It's the fourth chakra and it sits above the solar plexus.
In Sanskrit,
The heart chakra is called anahata and this means unstruck or unhurt.
The heart chakra represents connection,
Love,
And relationships.
It's how we give and receive love.
It's how we process emotions.
This chakra is typically associated with the color green or a shade of green and it is connected to the air element.
When out of balance or when having a blocked heart,
We may feel prone to grief,
Anger,
Fear or loneliness.
We may struggle with acceptance.
These emotions are messengers calling for your attention and your heart wants to release these constraints around it.
When we have unacknowledged or unprocessed emotions from the past,
They tend to crystallize within the body and form a barricade around our heart space.
We may overcompensate with this imbalance by isolating or smothering others in relationships,
Which can only lead back to more emotional pain and confusion.
The willingness to face these patterns takes courage,
Which is also a trait of the heart.
When in balance,
We embody love,
Trust,
Intuition,
Compassion,
Acceptance,
Empathy,
And understanding.
We feel safe.
We are able to navigate life with discernment and emotional intelligence.
We are heart minded and there is a permeating feeling of wholeness within and without.
We will now begin.
Find a comfortable position for your body.
This can be seated or lying down.
Begin to breathe.
Drop into the center of your chest.
As you breathe in,
Feel your chest,
Rib cage,
And belly expand.
And as you breathe out,
Feel the chest,
Rib cage,
And belly empty.
Breathe yourself open.
Meditate on the sound of your breath.
With your imagination and your intuitive senses,
Start to connect with your heart chakra located in the center of your chest.
Allow yourself to connect.
Feel it.
And ask your heart chakra to reveal anything that needs to be seen,
Heard,
Or held today.
Without any judgment or critiquing,
Be with any information that comes back to you.
You may experience colors,
Emotions,
Memories,
Symbols,
Imagery,
Or physical sensations in the body.
For the next few minutes,
Allow yourself to receive any information that comes forward and keep breathing.
Now,
Ask your heart chakra if there is anything needed from you today.
Sometimes,
It's just about acknowledgement and holding space for the information we receive.
Ask if anything is needed and see what comes back to you intuitively.
Perhaps who wouldn't?
Take a breath in and breathe out.
Place your hands on your heart.
Thank your heart chakra for connection today and begin to imagine it filling up with a diamond shimmering light.
Feel it.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Now slowly begin to release your focus on the heart chakra and come back to your entire body.
Notice your whole body.
The sensations,
The temperature on your skin and the support beneath you.
You may start to bring in little movements starting with your fingertips and your toes.
Maybe allow your head to move a little from left to right.
And when you are ready,
You can blink your eyes open to the room.
Thank you for joining me in this heart chakra meditation practice.
It might be nice to journal your experiences on paper to ground and reflect on throughout the rest of your day.
Namaste.
