Introduction To Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping)
This is a short educational introduction to Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping. Learn how tapping on specific meridian (acupressure) points while acknowledging emotions can support emotional processing and nervous system regulation. This practice combines mindful awareness, self-acceptance, and gentle tapping on the body. It is often used to support stress relief and emotional healing, as well as to overcome limiting beliefs and release stuck feelings. This is a great track to listen to before diving into any tapping practice.

Welcome.
If you're here,
I assume you've had some experience with EFT tapping,
But maybe not.
And this video is just a quick intro explanation into what is EFT,
What do we do when we're tapping,
And what can you expect?
So EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique.
And in the realm of healing modalities,
This one is relatively new.
In so much as it's been around since the 80s.
And I won't get into the full history,
But if you wanna geek out about that,
You can always reach out to me,
We can talk more.
But it is the simple act of doing two things,
Tapping on very specific parts of our body.
As we talk about an issue at hand.
Frequently you'll hear someone leading a tap.
So someone like me saying,
Repeat after me.
But the nice thing about this self-healing modality is that you can always lead your own taps if you know the points by tapping on the points,
Naming what is occurring for you without trying to change it.
Feeling into what is,
And dousing yourself with love and acceptance.
And that is really what EFT tapping is about.
Being very present to what we're feeling.
And just dousing ourselves with love and acceptance for whatever comes up.
You'll often hear me say in my taps,
I'm open to loving and accepting myself,
Or even though this is happening,
I love and accept myself.
And love and acceptance are really the secret sauce,
The magic that makes tapping so effective.
Quite frequently,
We're trying to resist,
Avoid,
Not feel.
Because we have shame or guilt,
Or we think it's gonna be so uncomfortable to feel a certain thing or to bring up a certain memory.
Tapping allows us to access those memories and those feelings.
In a way that feels different So when we're tapping,
We're tapping on parts of the body that are associated with the meridian system.
If you have ever had acupuncture,
It uses the exact same system and same point.
Except instead of putting needles into our body,
We're using our own fingers.
In EFT tapping,
You're always tapping on your own body.
And you're tapping on points.
The acupressure points that are based on the meridian system.
And what this does is it sends a little electrical current to the amygdala and the hippocampus in the brain.
These two work together for storing long-term memory,
For processing feelings.
And it allows us to reprogram the brain is how I like to think about it.
And access those memories,
Maybe without the same intensity of emotional response.
And tapping can be used for all sorts of things in the EFT peer-reviewed scientific research they're doing.
They've been studying it on disordered eating,
PTSD,
All kinds of different trauma.
But you can also use EFT for positive manifestation,
For removing limiting beliefs.
The use cases are endless.
So we're tapping on these very specific points.
We're talking about the topic at hand,
Whether it's a topic that you've accessed through an audio,
A podcast,
Or just tapping on your own,
Being present with what is.
And we're allowing ourselves to process and feel and clear through blocks,
Emotions,
Memories that maybe have gotten us stuck,
Dunked up in certain places in our body.
That was a relatively brief description.
If you have more questions,
About what tapping is.
I've got all sorts of resources I can point you to.
Feel free to reach out and I'm excited to share.
