Controlling your breath leads to greater calm and relaxation. In this meditation, we are using a count of 4. Inhaling a four-count and exhaling a four-count. This is called equal parts breath or “sama vritti”. In this version, we are using the Kundalini Mantra SA TA NA MA as a counting rhythm. The meaning of this mantra is Infinity, Life, Death, Rebirth. This mantra is said to go deep into the subconscious mind and is said to be a great catalyst for change.
