Hi. Welcome to your sacred verse. This poem is an invitation to linger in the in-between, In those tender thresholds where endings and beginnings meet. I invite you to close your eyes and take a little break from your day. May this piece guide you into presence, Into breath, And into the quiet grace of simply being. I stand on a ground, Familiar yet new, Like when the sun rises again, Melting the dew. An ending has happened, A beginning as well. They dance together, Those two, The roses they smell. To acknowledge the cusp, The before and after. To stand on the line, Pausing, No rushing to go faster. Can I be present, Right here, In this liminal space? Just feeling and breathing, A sweet, Slow pace. My senses are heightened, My body alert to all that is happening, Even the hurt. Especially the hurt. Like an arrow, It propels me into imagination or memories, Pain playing itself out, Conjuring unnecessary worries. I see the arrow, Its flight and its target. Like a magic, It's disarmed simply by writing it. Mind becomes quiet when words fill the page. The silence is freedom from my self-designed cage. Is that a rose that I smell? As I rest in this in-between space, Not before or even after, Simply a moment of grace.
