Welcome to this guided meditation on abandonment.
Begin by finding a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in,
Slowly exhaling.
Feel the weight of your body being supported by the ground beneath you.
Allow your shoulders to relax,
Your jaw to soften,
And your mind to gently focus on your breath.
Take another deep breath,
Inhaling through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Feel yourself becoming more grounded with each breath.
Let go of any tension or worries from the day.
Now I invite you to bring to the mind the feeling of abandonment,
However it shows up for you.
This may be a recent experience or perhaps something from the past.
As you hold this feeling in your awareness,
Remember that you are safe in this moment,
Simply observing the emotions that come up.
There is no need to push the feelings away or change them,
Just allow them to exist.
As you breathe in,
Imagine you are inhaling compassion and understanding,
And as you exhale,
You release any harsh judgments or resistance you may be holding against yourself for feeling this way.
Breathe in compassion,
Exhale judgment.
Now bring your attention to your heart space.
Notice if it feels tight or heavy.
Let the breath flow directly to your heart,
Softening any tightness you may feel there.
Imagine a soft warm light beginning to form in the center of your chest.
This light is your own love,
Your own strength,
And your own worth.
See it grow and expand with each breath,
Filling your entire chest with warmth and comfort.
Inhale this light and let it spread through your whole body,
From your head to your toes and out to the tips of your fingers.
As this light grows,
Remind yourself,
I am enough.
I am worthy of love.
I am deserving of care and connection.
I release the fear of feeling abandoned.
I welcome love and connection into my life.
Allow these words to sink in deeply.
Let your body relax even more as you take another deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel any remaining heaviness begin to dissolve.
Imagine now a soft embrace surrounding you,
As if the universe itself is holding you close.
Know that you are never truly alone,
Even in moments of fear or pain.
The love that resides within you is always there,
Steady and strong.
Take a few more breaths,
Connecting with this deep sense of support and love that is ever-present within you.
Let it fill you up.
When you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and take a deep breath in,
Feeling refreshed and grounded in your space.
Know that you can return to this space of love and safety whenever you need it.
You are whole.
You are loved.
You are enough.
When you feel ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of peace and security with you as you move forward.
