Morning Postcards 6

This morning postcard is about living in the present. So often we are stuck in, rooted in the past that we fail to see what is right in front of us. Awareness is key to making a change, for if we don't, the infinite possibilities that could be ours will pass us by.

Good morning!

I wanted to drop you a postcard this morning.

I just had to tell you about the amazing sunset I saw last night on my way to Philadelphia.

You know,

It was kind of wild because the only way that I could see it was in my rearview mirror.

The entire scene was all behind me.

So this got me to thinking,

Have you ever felt that way?

Like what you're looking at or focusing on is all in the rearview?

Do you ever feel so caught in the grasp of looking in the past in the rearview mirror of life that you entirely miss what's right in front of you?

Why do you think we do that?

Are we just too afraid to look at the present or even the future?

Afraid of the unknown?

I know that I've been there,

Entrenched in the past,

That I'm not even living in the present.

We can even see the past and not see it accurately,

Remembering things better or worse than they truly were.

But you know what?

I realized something else.

You can't change the past.

Nope,

You can't change what's already happened,

Good or bad,

But you can choose what happens now.

And even better,

You get to create the future.

But if you're still looking in the rearview,

Well,

Then you'll never see it.

You know,

There's a sea of possibilities right here,

Right in front of you,

And yet only one possibility behind you.

You belong to the present child.

You get to choose what happens now.

This is your story,

Love,

And guess what?

If you don't like it,

Well then,

You can change it.

Create a new reality,

One that rivals the past.

No,

How about one that blows the past right out of the water?

One that brings you joy beyond measure.

You know how to make it happen.

You do.

You always have.

You've been creating your world for quite some time now,

Whether you recognize it or not.

Now is the time to consciously construct your reality.

So,

Put your work clothes on and let's get to work.

What are you waiting for?

What are you going to dream up today?
