As the breath flows in,

The body expands and you feel a sense of coming into the moment.

The mind is busy,

Thoughts floating past quickly,

But you are aware that you make a conscious choice,

As though you step away from the busyness.

And with the next breath as it comes in,

It is as though all the fragmented pieces of your thoughts and your actions and your busyness seem to all come together in the breath.

And as you breathe out,

An understanding that you are empowering yourself to become centred.

This moment,

This breath,

This choice.

And the breath flows in again,

And your mind goes to another thought,

Past or future.

But you turn away from the thought,

Not push it away,

But turn away and bring your focus back to feeling the inhalation flow into you.

And you follow the breath out,

And you give your body permission to let go of the tension.

And then the breath flows in again,

And it reminds you of your choice,

To leave the busy world outside,

To let the thoughts drift past like clouds on a blue sky.

But you have chosen stillness,

A longing from within,

To connect.

And like the waves on the gentle ocean surface,

You allow your focus and your attention to stay with the rise and fall of your breath.

And slowly the noise of all the thoughts fade away,

And the sound and the awareness and the immersion in your breath becomes louder.

The thoughts may still be there,

And that is okay,

But it is where you place your focus,

That is the jewel.

And as the breath flows into you,

You feel it,

Feel how it changes your body,

The expansion that it brings.

And then as you breathe out,

The exhalation gives you permission to let go,

To release the tension in your hands,

Tension in your face,

Your throat,

Your chest.

It all continues to flow,

In and out of you so easily.

The breath is always there to remind us that we have a choice.

We will breathe without even having a thought of it.

Our day is busy,

But the moments that we pause to notice our breath are the moments that can be life-changing,

A moment that feels restrictive,

Can feel expansive,

A moment that we were going to rush to the next.

The breath can remind us to pause,

To pause to celebrate that moment.

Feel the breath flowing in and out,

Feel the tension melting away,

No matter how many thoughts.

Turn away from them,

Turn back to the breath,

Back to the feeling,

Back to its gift.
