This one is all around self-compassion.
I want to share with you three ways that you can bring more self-compassion into your day,
Into your business growth.
This is especially for the yoga teachers and the healers who are growing their business to a place of consistent monthly income and working solely for yourself so that you have the freedom to travel,
To create your own schedule,
To live the lifestyle that is really calling to you.
So stick around as I share my thoughts on self-compassion because I know so many of my clients go through this and I've been through this as well where there's just a lack of self-compassion and how we can switch that around and how when you make those little shifts around self-compassion it's going to positively affect the growth of your business and of course get you closer to your goal of location,
Time,
And financial freedom.
Because I know that when I started growing my remote yoga business four plus years ago,
I really did struggle with the mindset piece and I see this in a lot of my clients as well.
I'm here for you.
We're going to simplify things and support you on your journey because I know what's possible for you when it comes to growing your yoga and your healing business.
Now to me,
Self-compassion is really about treating yourself with the same kindness,
The same understanding,
The same care that you would offer to a loved one or a close friend or even a student or a client of yours,
Right?
It's not about letting things slide.
It's about recognizing that especially as you grow your business,
You're going to make mistakes.
You're going to have setbacks.
There are going to be imperfections.
That's part of the process and we talked last week in the mindset chat about perfectionism.
If you missed that one,
You can go back and watch that afterwards if that's a topic that you might want to learn a little bit more about how that's affecting your business growth.
Now as a yoga and healing business owner,
Often we can be our own toughest critics,
Right?
Let me know if that resonates with you.
I know that I am mine and sometimes that can lead to us feeling like we need to hustle harder,
We need to be more perfect,
We need to do things faster,
We need to do more in order to be successful and this is somewhere that I have worked extensively to let go of,
Right?
It's kind of that masculine and feminine balance,
Right?
Now the mindset of that work,
Do,
Do,
Do,
More,
More,
More,
Work,
Work,
Work,
This is can lead to burnout and maybe you're like me and you've been there already.
I definitely have been there several times over and what I've learned in the process is that self-compassion is going to just allow us to pause,
To reflect and to give ourselves some grace,
Right?
And as a business owner,
As you grow your business,
This is so important.
This is going to allow you to get back up when you fall down.
It's going to help you avoid that spiraling that could happen into feelings of guilt or feelings of frustration which can happen as you grow your business.
You know,
You're stepping into a place of discomfort and I encourage you to do that but you need to be strong enough in your mindset to hold the capacity for that,
For what you're really capable of creating.
If you're not treating yourself with compassion,
It's going to show up in your business too,
Right?
You'll end up making decisions from a place of lack or fear or even comparison and that actually brings me to my next point.
Let's talk about comparison mode for a moment.
I know that you are ready to grow to consistent income on your own and move on from working for other people but if you are feeling like sometimes you'll find yourself scrolling through Instagram thinking things like,
Oh why is her workshop or retreat full and mine isn't?
Or oh she's been growing her account for way less time than I have and she has more followers.
You know,
Those kinds of thoughts can just be pretty toxic,
Right?
It's like when you're an athlete and you get fixated on what your competitors are doing rather than focusing on yourself and that is something I was when I was thinking about talking about this that came up for me.
Some of you might know I was a competitive figure skater way back when I was a kid and you know I think about those times where I would be at a competition and I would get a little bit fixated on my on the competitors on what they were doing and it would completely pull me out of my lane and take my focus away from what I needed to do and this happens in business as well.
It's just going to slow down the growth of your business and also it's going to pull the vibration down which can get things feeling a bit stuck.
So let's fix that,
Okay?
When you are in comparison mode,
Firstly you're going to lose sight of your journey.
You might start thinking that you need to offer what someone else is offering.
You might be thinking you need to use the same prices as someone else or show up like someone else,
You know,
But when you do that you're diluting your authenticity and this is how you're going to stand out.
Being authentic and unique,
The things that only you can bring.
This is so important to keep as you grow your business and I know you want to stay in your power and share your unique gifts with the world in an authentic way so just remember that your experiences,
Your energy,
Your wisdom,
They are yours alone.
The people who are meant for you,
You know,
Your students,
Your clients,
They will be drawn to that.
They will be drawn to that authenticity but only if you allow yourself to show up really uniquely as you and instead of comparing yourself to others,
Try comparing your current self to your past self and then just,
You know,
Focus and reflect on how far you've already come.
This is a practice that I bring in often and it really helps redirect the energy for me so give that a shot,
Okay?
Now let's talk about how you can practically start bringing more self-compassion into your daily life and into your business growth.
I've got three ways for you to do that today.
The first way is to reframe that inner voice.
We need to go through a reframe of the inner dialogue so you can start by just noticing how are you talking to yourself when things don't go as planned or if you get,
You know,
Frustrated with technology or people aren't liking your posts,
Things like that.
What is coming up for you?
Maybe you put a workshop out there and it didn't fill or,
You know,
Anything like that.
Instead of telling yourself that you failed or that you're not good enough,
You need to shift the mindset and instead you need to think about how you're learning.
This is part of your growth and,
You know,
Growth in business is just like your yoga practice or your whatever practice it is,
Breathwork,
Meditation,
Your your morning practice.
I hope you have one by the way.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
It's not going to be perfect,
Right?
But you can make mistakes and they are not a sign of failure.
They're signs of growth.
So really important for you to remember that one.
All right,
The second thing for you to do is set boundaries,
Especially around social media.
We all know that we need to do this.
Sometimes it helps to hear it.
One of the best ways to avoid comparison is by setting boundaries around social media,
Right?
So social media,
Yes,
It's an amazing tool to grow your business.
Absolutely,
I do feel that you need to use it but there are so many ways that you can do this in,
You know,
A way that feels good for you and you need to be in your power and have this the inner strength to actually set those boundaries.
If you're constantly consuming other people's content,
It's easy for you to lose sight of your own vision and so what you need to do is limiting the amount of time you spend consuming content,
Focus more on creating your own,
Right?
Stepping into the mind of the creator,
The creative that I know that all of you are.
So creating authentic content from the heart is so important if you want to draw in your ideal students and clients and focusing on creating it directly for them.
Create content for your ideal students and clients,
Okay?
All right,
One more that we have in,
I love this one.
This is kind of similar to what I mentioned earlier but celebrating your small wins,
Right?
Finally celebrating your wins whether they're big,
Whether they're small,
Just take time to reflect and acknowledge what you've done.
So when you're growing your business,
It's easy to focus on the big milestones like hitting a certain income level or selling out a retreat but there's so much that happens leading up to those milestones that you need to,
You know,
Reflect on and realize that you've come so far.
Maybe it's a smaller win like a great conversation with a new potential client or maybe someone sent you a DM about how your class impacted them or your social media post made them really think about something and those are all wins,
Right?
So take time to reflect on your progress and give yourself credit for the work that you are doing.
So let me just finish off here by saying that self-compassion is,
In my opinion,
A non-negotiable.
If you want to have the freedom to run your own yoga or healing business,
You want to have the capacity to grow a sustainable business that generates the consistent income so that you can work solely for yourself and so that you can start to fill retreats and your other paid offerings.
As you go through your day today,
I want you to be especially aware of what your self-talk is,
That inner dialogue,
Especially when you are working on your business and,
You know,
Through the week as well.
Take a little bit more time to notice and to pay attention.
If you get frustrated or drop into comparison mode,
That's okay.
Just gentle reminders that you are learning,
You are growing,
And then turn it into a celebration of a small win.
So what's really important is for you to keep moving forward and taking that imperfect action and we'll see you soon!
