Welcome to this short breathing practice called alternate nostril breathing to help you feel more balanced emotionally,
Especially if you are an empath or a more sensitive person.
You might feel some highs and lows due to your deep sensitivity.
This practice is known to help balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain,
Bringing harmony in your emotions and restoring your inner peace.
It's a great practice for if you're looking to gain some clarity or just feel more balanced.
Go ahead and find a comfortable seat with a tall spine.
Once you're in stillness,
Just start to notice the natural flow of your breath,
Observing how you're feeling in this moment,
Open and curiosity to what shows up.
You can have your eyes closed or open and bring your right hand in front of your nose.
We'll be starting by covering your right nostril with your right thumb and taking an inhale deeply through your left nostril.
Now,
Cover your left nostril with your ring or middle finger or index finger,
Pause,
And now release your thumb from your right nostril,
Exhaling through the right.
Stay here and take an inhale through your right nostril.
Cover that nostril with your thumb and pause.
Lift your finger from your left nostril and exhale through the left.
Keep going at your own pace,
Inhaling through your left nostril.
Cover both nostrils.
Lift your thumb and exhale through your right.
Inhale through your right nostril.
Inhale through your left nostril.
Exhale through your right nostril.
Inhale through your left nostril.
Exhale through your right nostril.
Cover both.
Exhale through your left.
Inhale through your left.
Cover both.
Exhale through your right.
Inhale through your right.
Cover both.
Exhale through your left.
Do one more round in through the left.
Cover.
Exhale through the right.
Inhale through your right.
Cover.
Exhale through your left.
Release your hand back down to your side or your lap and just allow yourself to arrive with your natural breath.
And as you breathe organically,
In this stillness,
Become a little more aware once again of how you're feeling.
Noticing if anything has shifted in just a few minutes of this practice.
No judgment,
No expectation,
Just openness and curiosity.
And you can come back to this practice whenever you're looking for a little more emotional balance,
Clarity and inner peace.
