Welcome to this very special and uplifting gratitude meditation,
Which will hopefully make you smile,
Feel better about yourself,
And more empowered to continue with your day and take on whatever comes your way.
How we speak to ourselves and the words we use can have a profound impact,
Not only on how we feel,
But on how we interact with other people.
So it's important for us to acclimatise ourselves and welcome the habit of speaking kindly to ourselves.
And what better way to do it than by uttering words of gratitude?
Some are a little lighter than others,
But overall,
The goal is to feel better.
So join me along and let's change the day for the better.
Begin by finding yourself seated comfortable with your back upright.
And let's take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale.
Close your eyes and relax your muscles as you breathe out.
And when you're fully exhaled,
Take note of the sensations of the breath as you breathe in and out through the nostrils.
Notice how the air is a little cooler when you breathe it in.
And then notice how it's a little warmer when you breathe it out through your nose.
Take note of how your body moves when you breathe in and out.
Do any parts of your body move as a result of the breath?
Where do you naturally breathe into your belly or your chest or in between?
Notice if any muscles may have tensed up in your body.
And just relax whichever muscles may need relaxing.
Make sure your whole body is fully relaxed.
As you are here breathing and focusing on the breath,
I'd like you to repeat the following affirmations after me.
I am grateful for the gift of another day.
I appreciate the beauty of nature around me.
I am grateful for the love I receive.
I am grateful for meals that do not require dishes.
I am grateful for the strength to carry on.
I am grateful for the strength to grow.
I am grateful for the people in my life.
I am grateful for my co-pilot,
Coffee.
I am thankful for my resilience.
I am thankful for the endless possibilities of life.
I appreciate my plants for not judging me.
I cherish the people who inspire me.
I am thankful for my creative energy.
I am thankful for my life's adventures.
I am grateful for my health.
I am thankful for my fridge light,
Making midnight snacking feel classy.
I am grateful for the love and light I carry.
I am thankful for the days when my hair behaves.
I am grateful for the gift of life itself.
Together,
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose.
Slowly,
Exhale.
When you've fully exhaled,
You may gently open your eyes and welcome back your physical surroundings.
And as you do so,
Take a moment to think of something about yourself for which you are grateful.
It could be a quality that you carry.
It could be a physical attribute.
It could be a personality trait.
Anything.
Why are you grateful for this thing?
And when you are done,
I want to wish you an amazing rest of the day,
Filled with gratitude,
With happiness.
And may you keep shining that light that continuously inspires those around you.
Thank you from my heart to yours.
Much love.
