Welcome,
I am so grateful you are here with me today.
My name is Ale Garnica.
Today's practice is an invitation for the playful part of you to come forward and sprinkle a little lightness into your workday.
Before we close our eyes,
I want to share a story with you.
A few years ago,
I was walking my nephew to the school bus.
As we crossed a small playground,
I saw a set of swings and felt the urge to jump on them.
I noticed the bus had not arrived,
So I said,
Hey,
Let's get on the swings.
He looked at me very seriously and said,
We don't have time,
Ale.
And I told him something I want to remind myself of every day.
There is always time for fun.
We played for just one minute,
But that minute was enough to shift my entire day.
And I am sure it changed his too.
You,
Me,
All of us carry that playful urge that wants us to be spontaneous and free.
When we follow it,
Even for a moment,
We create space for fun and presence.
Let's have a little fun together.
Find a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.
Let this moment be your playground,
A space where worries dissolve and you meet everything with a curious mind,
Curious toward whatever is present,
Sounds,
Thoughts,
Sensations.
With that sense of curiosity,
Bring to mind a moment from your past when you were very playful.
Where were you?
What were you doing?
Who were you?
What were you with?
Or maybe you were alone.
Notice how it feels in the body to remember the playful you.
Keeping that same sense of curiosity,
Ask yourself.
What is one thing I can do today to bring that playful part of me into my work?
Whatever arises,
A thought,
An image,
A feeling,
Or even silence,
Is welcome.
Fun is part of your nature.
It's that light-hearted pleasure that you consciously or unconsciously crave.
Making it part of your workday isn't rocket science and there is always,
Always time for it if you choose to let it in.
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
Slowly,
At your own pace,
Begin to open your eyes and come back to a lighter,
More spontaneous,
More playful you.
Thank you for being here.
