If you are holding your baby in the quiet of the night,

Feeling alone or worn down,

This moment is for you.

Hi,

I see you here with me.

I know how peaceful,

But lonely,

These times in the middle of the night can be.

So let's use this time to fill our hearts and ground our bodies in gratitude for this beautiful moment with your baby.

All around you,

It's dark and quiet.

The once hungry cry of your little one is now replaced with the gentle sound of breathing and swallowing.

They find your arms,

And you can feel them fill with ease.

Their tiny body is curled up against yours,

As if they are still inside,

Comforted by your heartbeat,

And nurtured by your embrace.

This moment is so simple,

So natural.

You've been here before,

More times than you can count,

And more hours than you know.

And yet,

Somehow,

Each time,

You're drawn fully into the present moment.

To your baby,

Being nourished by your body.

You are exhausted,

But still,

Here you are,

Again,

Showing up with all of you.

This is hard.

Your back aches.

Your eyes fight to stay open.

But your heart?

Your heart is so full.

This is sacred work.

This is a rhythm only the two of you share.

With each night that passes,

This dance gets more familiar.

Your bodies find that perfect cuddle.

Your heart starts to beat to the same rhythm.

These nights are filled with so much love.

But they can often feel lonely,

Too.

The sky outside is so dark,

That,

For a few moments,

It feels like you,

And your baby,

May be the only ones awake in the world.

A moment just for the two of you.

Beautiful,

Yes,

But sometimes,

A little bit isolating,

Too.

I want you to know,

You are not alone.

All around the world,

Mothers are awake,

Right now,

Snuggled with their babies in warm embraces,

All breathing in this rhythm of motherhood.

And,

I am here with you now.

You are seen.

How you are showing up right now matters.

It is all worth it.

You are quietly building the foundation of your little one's world.

You are teaching them that they are safe and loved.

You are teaching them how it feels to be cared for and to be held.

You are showing them that they are worthy of your love and time,

Even when it's hard.

This won't be forever.

As mothers,

We know this.

Each moment is a season,

Filled with beauty and filled with heart.

You will sleep again.

Your tiny human will one day ask for a bedtime snack and then sleep the whole night through.

But now,

Take a moment to close your eyes.

Try to savor these feelings and snuggles as you head back to sleep.

Allow your heart to feel full in this moment.

You are seen.

You are showing up so powerfully.

And,

You are a great mom.

If this moment brought you comfort,

I would love to have you join me here again.

Anytime you need a little company in the quiet,

I believe in you.
