Happy Winter! In this meditation, you’ll reflect on the past six months, set intentions for the next six months, and release any fears, doubts, or worries holding you back from accomplishing your dreams. If you like to journal, this guided meditation would go great with an intention-setting journal session for the winter solstice. Wishing you all the best this winter and spring! Hi,

My name is Asa.

Welcome to this Winter Solstice guided meditation.

As the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year,

The Winter Solstice is a perfect time to reflect on the past,

Set intentions for the future,

And let go of anything that might be blocking you from achieving your dreams.

We'll do just that in the following guided meditation.

Please come to a comfortable seat.

You may close your eyes or leave them open with a soft gaze on the floor a few feet in front of you.

On your next inhale,

Allow the crown of your head to lift up,

Lengthening through your spine.

And on the following exhale,

Allow your shoulders to relax down towards the earth.

Notice if you're holding any tension in your face,

Your neck,

Your shoulders,

Or anywhere else in your body.

And with the next few exhales,

Allow your body to release that tension,

Like a wave of relaxation,

Washing it away from your body.

Slowly begin to deepen your breath.

Bring your full awareness to your body breathing.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your belly and chest as you breathe in and out.

And if any thoughts float through your mind,

Simply recognize them and then kindly bring your awareness back to your body breathing.

We'll begin our winter solstice practice with a period of reflection.

If the past six months were particularly challenging or emotional,

I invite you to place one or both hands over your heart and give yourself extra love and compassion during this part of the meditation.

When you're ready,

Allow the past six months to replay in your mind's eye,

Like a home movie,

Starting in June and rolling all the way through today.

Take your time reviewing each month,

Noticing the moments that stood out to you.

Reflect on what was significant,

How you spent your time,

The accomplishments you celebrated,

And the challenges you faced.

Be sure to note any insights or lessons you learned along the way.

Take a few more minutes to reflect over the past summer and fall,

Perhaps wrapping up this period of reflection with a moment of gratitude,

Noting a few things in particular that you are most grateful for.

Take a deep breath in and let it out with a big sigh.

Next,

I invite you to connect with your dreams and desires for the next six months,

From now until the summer solstice in June.

Is there anything you'd like to achieve or any projects you'd like to complete?

Is there a feeling or a quality that you'd like to embody?

Where would you like to focus your energy?

Take a few more minutes to envision everything you'd like to manifest in the coming winter and spring,

Encompassing your work life,

Personal life,

Spiritual journey,

And everything in between.

Take a deep breath in,

Holding your intentions in your awareness,

And as you exhale,

Imagine releasing those intentions into the universe,

Allowing your dreams to be known.

Now,

Having reflected on the past and set your intentions for the future,

Let's take a moment to acknowledge any limiting beliefs,

Unhelpful behaviors,

Or negative patterns that haven't been serving you.

What can you let go of or change in order to accomplish your goals and realize your dreams this winter and spring?

Take a deep breath in,

And on your exhale,

Visualize letting go of all of those things.

Enjoy a few more minutes in this meditative space,

Adding anything else you'd like,

Such as a moment of prayer,

Or perhaps visualizing your dreams and desires as if they've already come true.

Slowly begin to open your awareness out to the space around you.

Notice any sounds around you.

Feel where your body connects to the chair and the floor.

And whenever you're ready,

Take a deep breath in,

And on your exhale,

Gently sit back,

Take a stretch,

And blink open your eyes.

Thank you for joining me in this winter solstice guided meditation.

Wishing you a wonderful day and a fantastic winter and spring.
