Hi everyone,

This is Amy.

I hope you're doing well out there.

Today,

We are going to be using what's called the VOO technique.

That's V-O-O,

VOO.

It's actually a technique in the method of somatic experiencing.

It's a really amazing technique to stimulate the vagus nerve and actually bring us into a more regulated,

Grounded,

Centered place.

We'll go ahead and begin.

Wherever you are,

Just go ahead and find a comfortable seat,

Or you can be standing if that's better for you.

What we're going to do is,

This practice is going to look like taking a big inhale and then using the sound VOO.

Then we'll inhale again,

Use the sound VOO again,

And we'll just keep repeating that so you can just follow my lead here.

We'll go ahead just sitting up really tall,

Lengthening through the spine,

Shoulders or back,

And we'll take a big inhale.

Then we'll inhale again.

We'll go ahead and do that five more times together.

Again,

Inhaling,

VOO.

Another round,

Inhale,

VOO.

Really noticing with each round if you can deepen the VOO into the belly,

Into the pelvic floor,

And again we'll inhale.

Two more rounds.

Inhale,

VOO.

One more.

Inhale,

VOO.

Then when you're ready,

We'll just go ahead and come back to the natural breath.

Just noticing how you feel here.

Maybe just bringing both hands to the heart,

One hand on top of the other,

Just showing yourself some loving kindness here.

Thank you so much for practicing with me.

Use this practice anytime when it could feel useful,

Regulating,

Centering,

Or grounding.

All right,

Thank you so much.

Helpful little technique, quickly and effective for centering and coming back into your body. I felt a buzzing throughout my body after the meditation finished and I sat with it for a few more moments. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻

Feeling so grounded after doing this. It prompted me to continue with some of the mantras I’ve learned in the past and to visualize the day ahead. Thank you! 🙏🏼

Love the voo breath. I’m an SEP and learned this from Peter also. I have some practices you might like here on this platform. I use Intentional Touch for Developmental Trauma. I’m in Pleasant Hill not far from Vallejo. Thank you Radhe Lesny
