Hello,
My name is Addie.
Thank you for joining me for this guided meditation on Beaver Pond at Sweetgrass Ranch in Big Timber,
Montana.
Find a comfortable place to sit or recline and find a little gentle movement,
Adjusting the clothing,
Making yourself just a tad bit more comfortable.
Allowing the eyes to drift closed,
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Let the sit flow in and out of the nose.
Allow the breath to deepen.
Feel the air fill the entire body with each inhale.
And on the exhales,
Feel the body relax and soften.
Bring your awareness to the inside of the eyelids and begin to watch as if they were a movie screen.
Feel yourself floating in a kayak.
You feel safe.
The buoyancy of the water is holding you.
Feel a soft breeze tickle your skin and allow the cat tails and the grasses on the edge of the pond to dance gracefully.
The sun warms your skin and the breeze cools your skin.
In the cat tails,
Red-winged blackbirds share their songs.
Taking the gaze further from the body,
Notice small trees that border the pond.
They're also waving in the breeze.
As the gaze extends out further,
Notice the pines and the cedars reaching from the earth towards the sky.
In the middle of the pines and the cedars is a special tree,
A little shorter than the rest,
But when your eyes gaze at the very top,
You notice a majestic bald eagle.
He looks from side to side,
Also taking in this mountainscape.
Allow yourself to embody the eagle.
With your eagle eyes,
As you look around,
You see small mountains to one side covered with green trees and the other direction you see taller,
Rocky mountains with the glaciers left from winter.
The eagle looks up and sees the blue sky covered with wispy white clouds.
He takes a little movement and then without stretched wings begins to glide into the beautiful blue sky,
Looking down on the trees,
On the creek that's rushing underneath him,
Flying in the mountains.
Continue to breathe and fly as an eagle.
Don't worry,
I will awaken you when it's time.
Looking down on the trees on the rushing creek,
Gliding through the wispy clouds.
Bring your awareness to the sound of my voice.
Allow your eagle to make a large circle in the sky and fly back to that special pine tree where he started.
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Notice it flowing in and out of the nose.
Now bring your awareness to your body.
Feel the parts of your body that are touching the surface that is holding you.
We've still got our eyes closed.
Begin to envision yourself resting,
Relaxed.
In the mind's eye,
See your surroundings.
Notice yourself in your surroundings.
Awakening the body,
Wiggle the fingers and toes.
Roll the wrists and ankles.
Next inhale,
Draw the arms overhead and stretch the fingertips away from the soles of the feet in a good morning stretch.
Exhale,
Melt back into your surface for just a moment.
Another deep inhale,
Reach and stretch and grow.
Exhale to roll to the right side,
Maybe sigh it out.
Let go of anything you no longer need.
And when you're ready,
Allow the eyes to blink open gently.
If you're reclined,
Press in with your hands and help yourself to an upright seat.
I thank you so much for practicing with me today,
For sharing your love and light.
It's been my honor.
Until next time,
Namaste.
