Hello.

Welcome to this meditative sound bath for expression of grief.

My name is Addie and I'll be your guide.

Before we start,

I'd like to share a little information about sound healing and what to expect from this practice.

Grief is a complicated emotion and not one that clears easily or possibly ever.

However,

Thinking of grief as emotion or energy in motion allows it to flow through us and not become stuck.

As we practice today,

You may feel physical sensations such as tingling or vibrating within the body.

You may feel emotions that wish to express themselves.

Some people may cry.

Any expression that is genuine for you is fine.

You may see visions of light,

Colors,

Shapes.

You may experience memories.

With everything that happens,

Try not to label it as positive or negative.

Experience everything with detached awareness,

Allowing it to just happen.

Please try not to sleep,

Although if you do,

You will still benefit from this practice.

In the beginning,

I will be verbally guiding you,

But eventually I will just play the bowls.

Anything that I say that does not resonate with you,

Let it go in one ear and out the other,

Only taking what serves you in the moment.

Let everything flow through you and wash over you.

I will gently guide you back to your physical space at the end of the practice.

If you become activated or distressed and do not wish to continue,

Please help yourself to a seat slowly.

Blink the eyes open gently.

End the recording.

Then take sips of water to ground yourself before moving on with your day.

Sound healing affects everyone a little differently.

So if you have a response that is unacceptable to you,

Now you know what to do.

Before we start,

Be sure you have a place to recline,

Any blankets or pillows that you need for comfort,

And that you are warm enough.

Have a bottle of water nearby to drink when the practice has ended.

If you need to prepare yourself or your space,

Please pause the recording and do so now.

Lie down comfortably,

Arranging your clothing,

Blankets,

And pillows so that you can relax for the entire practice.

Close the eyes.

Bring the awareness to the breath,

Noticing how it flows in and out of the nose.

Take a deep inhale and sigh it out through the mouth.

Take another deep inhale,

This time holding at the top for as long as serves you,

And then sigh it out.

Take the deepest breath of the day.

Hold.

One more sip of air.

Hold and release through an open mouth when you're ready.

Bring the lips together and resume breathing in and out of the nose.

Allow the breath to deepen.

Inhales elongate.

Exhales extend.

Allow the exhales to become longer than the inhales.

You can do this organically or begin to count to four on the inhales and to six,

Eventually extending it to eight on the exhales.

Notice the parts of the body that are resting on the earth.

Feel the pull of gravity on these places,

But also notice the solidity of the earth.

Feeling safe,

Feeling secure,

Feeling nurtured,

And cared for.

Visualize your loved one or situation of loss.

Grief is often thought of as unexpressed love.

Open your heart to the loved one or situation,

Visualizing a green light emanating from your heart and washing over them.

Allow yourself to feel safe in the expression of your love from your open heart in your own way.

Allow the visualization to fade,

Transform,

Or evolve as the practice continues.

Always watching with detached awareness.

Keeping the eyes closed,

Bring your awareness to the breath.

Notice the flow in and out of the nose.

Bring your awareness to the parts of the body that are resting on the ground.

Bring your awareness to the clothes that are touching you.

Still with the eyes closed,

Notice the flow in and out of the nose.

Bring your awareness to the clothes that are touching you.

Still with the eyes closed,

Visualize yourself lying down.

Visualize the room around you,

The walls,

The ceiling,

The floor.

Visualize the objects in the room and see yourself in the room lying down.

Begin wiggling the fingers and toes.

Circle the wrists and ankles.

Find a good morning stretch,

Then roll to the right side.

Use your bicep as a pillow.

Take several breaths here.

Blink the eyes open.

When you're ready,

Use your hands to help yourself up.

Remain seated for several minutes and begin to take sips of water,

Only leaving your mat,

Couch,

Or bed when you feel ready.

I thank you so much for practicing with me.

Thank you for sharing your light and love.

It's been my honor.

Namaste.

Thank you again for practicing with me.

Throughout the remainder of the day,

Drink plenty of water as a sound bath acts as a massage at the cellular level and,

Like a physical massage,

Can cause the body to release toxins.

The water allows the body to flush them out naturally.

Thank you.
