A Course in Miracles,
Lesson 203,
Review,
Lesson 183.
I call upon God's name and on my own.
Move through your preparation for meditation.
Place your body in a comfortable position.
Take a few deep breaths.
Remove all expression from your face.
Let your body relax.
Put aside all that you think you know and all that you think you understand.
I will be quiet while you prepare for meditation.
Our day begins and our day ends with this.
I am not a body,
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
Say to yourself,
Repeat after me,
I am not a body,
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
Try to repeat this on every hour during the day.
Remember also every hour that each of us has a function that transcends the world we see.
In this meditation,
No form of exercise is required,
Except a deep relinquishment of everything that clutters our mind.
Quieting our mind gives us freedom.
We give these times of quiet to our teacher,
Who instructs in quiet,
Who speaks of peace,
The teacher who gives our thoughts whatever meaning they may have.
There is only one exception to this lack of structure in our meditation.
Permit no idle thought to go unchallenged.
If you notice an idle thought,
Deny its hold on you.
Assure your mind that this thought is not what your mind would have.
Then,
Gently replace the thought quickly with the idea we practice for today.
Say to yourself,
This thought I do not want.
I choose instead,
I call upon God's name and on my own.
As we move into a deeper connection with our higher self,
We say,
I am not a body,
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
I call upon God's name and on my own.
The name of God is my deliverance from every thought of evil and of sin,
Because it is my own as well as his.
Ponder on this.
This thought I do not want.
I choose instead,
I call upon God's name and on my own.
Put aside all that you think you know.
Put aside all that you think you understand.
The name of God is my deliverance from every thought of evil.
The name of God is my deliverance from every thought of sin.
We give these times of quiet to our teacher,
Who instructs in quiet,
Who speaks of peace.
The teacher who gives our thoughts whatever meaning they may have.
The name of God is my deliverance,
Because it is my own name as well as his.
This thought I do not want.
I choose instead,
I call upon God's name and on my own.
I am not a body,
I am free,
For I am still as God created me.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
