To this connecting practice dedicated especially to you as a pet parent.
My name is Biggi Junge,
I'm a dog trainer and behaviour consultant,
As well as a coach for dog guardians.
Join me in this meditation to deepen and strengthen your connection with your pet,
Be it a cat,
A dog,
A rabbit,
A bird,
A horse or whichever animal lives in your heart.
Take a comfortable seat or stand if that feels better for you.
You can do this meditation anywhere,
Even in a stable if you have a horse or on a walk if you have a dog.
Your pet may be nearby or elsewhere in the vicinity,
Wherever they are,
This practice is about feeling connection beyond proximity.
Close your eyes if it feels safe and comfortable and begin by noticing your breath,
Allow it to move naturally in and out.
Take a deep inhale and a soft,
Slightly longer exhale.
Stay there for a few more breaths.
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in.
Now bring your awareness to your chest and feel the steady rhythm of your heart,
Your pulse and the warmth inside your chest.
Imagine a tiny spark of light at the centre of your heart and with each breath this spark keeps growing.
It's soft light,
It may be golden,
It may have a pinkish hue or any other colour that comes to your mind.
The light begins to fill your whole heart,
Then your chest and then it starts to flow through your whole body.
But the light doesn't stop there,
It keeps getting stronger until it shines right through your body and out into the world around you.
You're lighting up your surroundings by the light of your heart.
Now bring your pet to mind,
See them in your mind's eye or feel their presence nearby and picture their chest,
Their heart beating inside it,
Their steady rhythm.
Imagine your own light reaching out to their heart,
Creating a glowing connection between you and them,
A soft glowing connection that is holding you both.
With every inhale feel the warmth of their presence.
With every exhale send calm,
Love and steady energy toward them.
Breathe in,
Feeling your bond.
Breathe out,
Sharing calm and care.
Notice any tingling,
Warmth or subtle emotional shift.
This is the quiet language of connection,
One your pet can sense even without words.
Allow your heart to feel this connection fully,
No need to do anything else.
Just be present in the energy you both share.
Take another deep breath in and a soft slightly longer breath out.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine that this heart to heart connection lingers even after the meditation ends.
It is always accessible,
Anytime you or your pet needs a little warmth or grounding.
Now take one final inhale and exhale slowly.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes if you've had them closed.
Maybe notice your pet nearby or carry the sense of their presence with you.
Your bond is real and your calm loving energy travels between you.
And in this shared heartbeat,
There is trust,
Safety and connection.
