Good morning my friend.
This practice can be done while you are still comfy in bed,
Or after you've gotten up,
Perhaps sitting on a chair or cushion.
So wherever you are,
Let's begin with a couple of slow,
Deep breaths.
Expanding the ribcage.
Softening the belly.
Really welcoming in the oxygen.
You may wish to stretch your arms out to the sides or above your head,
Bringing movement into the heart and stomach area.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Maybe make some circles with your wrists and ankles.
Just noticing the aliveness returning to your body this morning.
The purpose of this meditation is to help your brain move out of its habitual loops.
So today is not simply another repetition of the past,
But an opportunity to practice a new emotional reality.
As you take another deep breath to begin this new day.
Ask yourself,
How do I want to feel today?
Not what do you need to accomplish,
Not what needs to change first,
But what energy do you want to embody?
Maybe it's calm,
Confident,
Open,
Joyful,
Grounded,
Free.
Now imagine just in front of you,
A version of yourself who already feels this way.
Notice how they stand.
How they breathe.
The expression on their face.
How they carry themselves.
Now imagine watching them move through this day with ease and presence.
Notice the colors,
The atmosphere,
The feeling of this reality.
Now imagine stepping directly into this version of yourself.
See through their eyes.
Feel what they feel.
Breathe the way they breathe.
Bye!
Allow your body to absorb this emotional state now.
Maybe your posture shifts.
Maybe your face softens.
Maybe your jaw relaxes or your stomach lets go.
Take another deep breath in.
And imagine this feeling expanding through your entire body.
Now picture yourself moving through your day today,
Embodying this desired state.
Responding differently,
Feeling differently,
Living differently.
Not because some external thing changed first.
But because you intentionally practiced a new state.
Now let's choose a simple anchor for this feeling that you can use to reconnect with your new desired state.
Maybe that's a hand on your heart,
Two fingers pressed together,
Or a triumphant fist in the air.
Choose your simple gesture and use it now while fully immersed in the feeling of your positive day.
Take a few breaths here,
Savoring and expanding this energy.
Then repeat after me,
This energy is available to me right here,
Right now.
I can practice becoming this version of myself.
I carry this desired state into today.
And take another breath or two,
Maybe offer a gentle smile.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
