Hello,
Sweet one.
Thank you for joining me.
Today's meditation will be focusing on calming the brain and using the power of visualization to bring back clarity,
Calmness and an overall sense of peace within your head.
This practice was first offered to me by one of my teachers Ramanand Patel.
And in this practice,
We are going to visualize and imagine a balloon.
We're going to imagine that balloon expanding and deflating with our breath.
And we're going to imagine that our brains are mimicking the motion of this inflating and deflating balloon.
And this is a wonderful practice to come back to any time that you feel mentally exhausted or overwhelmed.
Sometimes we get those racing thoughts going through our minds and we would really in those moments we really just want to pause.
It's also a great tool to use if you are falling asleep and you are having trouble falling asleep.
This is a great visualization tool that brings me a lot of calm and peace when I'm in bed.
So I'll invite you to close your eyes.
Make sure that you are in a comfortable position whether that's seated or lying down.
It doesn't really matter for this meditation.
Just be comfortable with your eyes closed.
Become aware of the inhales and the exhales as they start to pass through your body.
And I want you to picture a balloon in your imagination.
Picture this balloon.
What color is the balloon that you are picturing?
Maybe it's red or blue or pink.
Whatever that balloon looks like for you.
Picture it inflating,
Growing larger as you breathe in.
And as you breathe out that balloon is slowly and gently deflating.
We inhale,
The balloon expands,
Grows larger.
And we exhale,
The balloon deflates.
Now go through a couple of cycles just like this,
Picturing that balloon in your mind,
Mimicking the breath,
Following the breath.
And now I'll invite you to swap out the image of the balloon that you have and imagine your brain,
The muscles,
The fibers of your brain.
And just like the balloon was inflating and deflating with your breath,
Picture your brain moving in the same way as you breathe in and you breathe out.
Now it might not inflate and deflate as drastically as the balloon did.
Maybe it only changes about an inch or two at most.
It's a very subtle expansion and softening of the brain.
But just like that balloon,
The brain is expanding with the inhales and softening and gently deflating with the exhales.
Only an inch or two,
Very subtle,
Subtle movements.
The brain is expanding with your inhale.
The brain is softening with your exhale.
Go through a few more rounds just like this.
The brain is gently moving with the breath,
Almost providing a massage-like experience for your brain,
In your whole skull,
Your head.
Allow this to be a soothing experience.
One more inhale here.
Feel the brain grow larger,
Get some space.
And another exhale,
Let it soften and surrender into the skull.
You can softly blink the eyes open.
And although we were just doing that exercise for a couple of minutes there,
Just notice if that felt nice for you,
If your head feels a little bit more spacious or a little bit more calm.
Like I said,
This is a great tool to use whenever you are feeling overwhelmed.
The thoughts are racing in your head or sometimes you just feel exhausted mentally.
This is a great tool to use in those moments.
Thank you so much for following along.
