Welcome here.

Today's Yoga Nidra is themed around the intention of nourishment.

I nourish life,

And in doing so,

Life nourishes me.

Let your eyes close,

Or keep them open if that feels more comforting.

And if they are closed,

Let the heaviness of your eyelids sink your eyes deeper into the world behind them now.

Let your forehead rest just slightly higher than your chin,

And ideally have the palms of your hands facing up.

Draw in a few deep breaths,

Inhaling through the nose,

And exhaling through the mouth.

Feel yourself expanding with each new inhale,

And releasing,

Relaxing with each exhale.

Deep breath in through the belly,

The ribs,

And the chest,

And deep exhale out.

Another deep breath in through the belly,

The ribs,

And the chest,

And exhale.

One more deep breath in,

In,

In,

And deep exhale out.

Take a moment now to make any last gentle adjustments so you can fully drop out of your head and melt completely into this present moment.

Know that we aim for stillness in this practice,

But you do not need to be still.

At any point,

You can adjust and it won't interrupt.

To nourish life doesn't just mean to feed or care in the surface level sense.

It means to tend what is alive,

Within you,

Around you,

In others,

In the earth.

It's a sacred act of devotion to vitality itself.

And nourishing life can look like letting your creativity flow when it stirs,

Even if no one else sees it.

Watering your plants while humming.

Offering presents to a friend without trying to fix anything.

Feeding your body what feels good.

Speaking kindly to yourself when old patterns arise.

Honoring your cycles of energy and rest instead of forcing productivity.

And creating beauty in your space just because it brings you joy.

It's about saying yes to what makes life worth living.

And when you nourish life,

Life nourishes you.

You might find that inspiration flows easier.

Your body feels more vibrant.

Others begin to care for you in ways they never did before.

The world responds with synchronicity,

Sweetness,

And abundance.

And life begins to feel like it's on your side.

I nourish life,

And in doing so,

Life nourishes me.

Bring your attention now to the surface that you are on.

Feeling all the parts of your body that are connected to this surface.

The back of your head.

Your shoulders.

Back.

Hips.

The backs of your legs.

And all the way down to the bottoms of your feet.

Breathe and feel.

And bring your attention to the sounds in this space.

And without getting too attached to a certain sound,

Just allow your mind to drift from one sound to the next.

Notice and briefly observe each sound.

And let the sounds around you fade into the distance now as you listen to your breath flowing in and out.

And perhaps you hear the beating of your heart or any grumbling of your digestion.

Continue shifting inward,

Listening for the softest and most subtle sounds.

Feel your entire right side body now.

And imagine it relaxing over to the right,

As if your entire right side body could just very gently fall away from center.

And imagine your entire left side body relaxing entirely over to the left,

As if the whole left side body could fall away from center.

And focus your attention very specifically now on your right side body again.

And imagine that your entire right side body could inhale.

And when you get to the top of your inhale,

Shift your awareness to your left side body.

And imagine your entire left side body can exhale.

When you get to the bottom of that exhale,

Imagine that the left side body can breathe in.

Imagine your right side body could breathe out.

Entire right side body inhales.

Entire left side body exhales.

Inhale,

Left side.

Exhale,

Right.

Inhale,

Right side.

Exhale,

Left.

Inhale,

Left.

Exhale,

Right.

Inhale,

Right.

Exhale,

Left.

Continue on with this same pattern of breathing for just a few more moments on your own.

And each time you move through a cycle of inhale to exhale,

You'll begin a countdown backwards starting at the number 12.

Counting each cycle of breath until you finally reach zero.

So you inhale,

Right side.

Exhale,

Left side.

Twelve.

Inhale,

Left side.

Exhale,

Right side.

Eleven.

Count your breath backwards just like that from 12 all the way down to zero.

And if you lose count or finish your count before I do,

Go ahead and start over again at the number 12.

Begin.

Let go of your count wherever you are.

And let's take a moment to remember our intention for this practice.

Lovingly repeat in your mind the following phrases three times.

I nourish life,

And in doing so,

Life nourishes me.

I nourish life,

And in doing so,

Life nourishes me.

Connect now to a color you love,

A color that feels nourishing.

Envision your entire body wrapped in that color.

Then distill this color into your right hand.

Notice what sensation you feel there.

You might feel heat or pulsation,

Itching,

Tingling,

Or numbness,

Magnetism,

Or radiance.

And without moving or changing your right hand,

Without making something up that doesn't exist,

Notice what you feel there.

And more specifically,

Move this color to your right thumb and notice what you feel.

Move this color through your second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

And fifth finger.

Feel all five fingers of your right hand.

Feel all five fingertips.

And from your fingertips,

Pour your color in the palm of your right hand.

Feel the back of your hand.

Sense this color around your wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Right shoulder,

Armpit.

Observe the sensation you feel in your right side ribcage as your color melts down it.

Right side waist.

Feel this color radiate through your right hip,

Shin,

Ankle.

Move it through the heel of your right foot,

Sole of your right foot,

Top of your right foot.

Big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth toe.

And fifth toe.

Feel this color touch the tips of all five toes on your right foot.

And from the tips of your toes,

This color floods up through your right leg,

Torso,

And down your arm.

Take in the entire right side body.

Feel the entire right side.

Slide your nourishing color over to your left hand,

And notice what sensation you feel there.

More specifically,

Sense your thumb,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

And fifth finger.

Feel all five fingers of your left hand.

Feel all five fingertips.

And from your fingertips,

Pour your color into the palm of your left hand.

Feel the back of your hand.

Sense your wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Left shoulder,

Armpit.

Observe the sensation you feel in your left side ribcage,

Left side waist,

And right side thigh.

Feel this color wash over your left hip,

Thigh,

Shin,

Ankle.

Move it through the heel of your left foot,

Sole of your left foot,

Top of your left foot.

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

And fifth toe.

Feel this color touch the tips of all five toes on your left foot.

And from the tips of your toes,

It floods up through your left leg,

Torso,

And down your arm.

Take in the entire left side body.

Feel the entire left side.

Now let your color,

Your awareness,

Sink into the back body.

Feel this color touch the soles of both of your feet.

Both heels.

Backs of both knees.

Feel it on the backs of your thighs.

The entire back of your pelvis.

Notice the sensation this color brings as it moves over your tailbone and your sacrum.

Feel it wash over the entire curvy length of your spine.

And from your spine,

It radiates outward to take in the entire back.

Sense your lower back.

Middle back.

Upper back.

Feel both shoulder blades simultaneously.

Take in your color through the back of your heart.

Move it through the curve of your neck.

The back of your head.

And the crown of your head.

Become aware of this color over your entire scalp.

Feel it lovingly touch the skin of your forehead.

Right eyebrow.

Left eyebrow.

Middle of the eyebrows.

Right eyelid.

Left eyelid.

Right eye.

Left eye.

Right cheek.

Left cheek.

Right ear.

Left ear.

Right side of your nose and right nostril.

Left side of your nose,

Left nostril.

Feel your upper lip.

Your lower lip.

Chin.

Jaw.

The roof of your mouth.

Swallow now and feel the inside of your throat.

Feel the right side of your neck.

Feel the left side of your neck.

Right collarbone.

Left collarbone.

Right side of your chest.

Left side of your chest.

Heart center.

Let this color specifically nestle into your heart center.

Allowing it to cleanse your heart space on the inhale and exhale.

And now distill your awareness to your right side ribcage.

Left side ribcage.

Belly.

Feel your breath like warm milk pouring through you.

Soothing every edge that may be left.

From this place envision sunlight warming your cheeks on a cool morning.

The scent of vanilla and orange peel.

Trickling water from a stream.

The laughter of a loved one.

A thick,

Cozy blanket wrapped around your shoulders.

Dancing to your favorite song.

A ripe peach dripping down your chin as you bite.

The smell of fresh bread just pulled from the oven.

A handwritten card with your name in gold ink.

A swing under a tree,

Your feet kicking toward the sky.

Tiny wild strawberries picked straight from the vine.

The smell of coffee brewing in the quiet morning.

A dog's tail thumping with joy just for seeing you.

A soft pop of bubble wrap under your fingers.

The sound of birdsong.

Fingertips grazing cool water on a summer day.

A stack of books you can't wait to read.

Feeling nourished.

Feeling nourished.

You are arriving now in a place that remembers how to care.

A sanctuary of nurturance inside and all around you.

You find yourself walking barefoot through golden fields ripe with nourishment.

Grain sways in the wind like breath and flowers open just because the sun loves them.

Everything here lives because it is fed by love.

In the distance you see a stone cottage nestled between the trees.

It feels familiar,

Like home.

Walk towards the stone cottage now until you arrive at its door.

You lay your hand on the golden knob and enter.

Inside,

The hearth is lit.

You are welcomed by its warmth.

The scent of herbs drying above the window.

A bowl of soup steaming on the table.

Soft blankets and candlelight inviting you to soften further.

This is your place.

A place where everything you tend returns to you in beauty.

Here,

You remember how to care for yourself.

Not from obligation,

But from devotion.

You sit.

You rest.

You receive.

And in this sacred receiving,

Something ancient and wise awakens within you.

A remembrance that your care is holy.

That tending your body,

Your joy,

Your pleasure is not selfish.

It is your life force speaking.

It is your essence nourishing the whole.

Now see yourself holding a bowl in your hands,

Glowing with golden light.

This is your nurturance.

Your essence distilled.

You bring this bowl to your heart.

And as you breathe,

That golden light flows through your chest,

Down your arms,

Into your belly,

Legs,

Feet.

It pours into every part of you that has longed to be cared for without condition.

Continue breathing and bathing in this nourishing golden light for a few more moments.

Feeling gratitude for its nourishment.

And now you offer its light outward.

Not from depletion,

But from abundance.

See this light touching the people you love.

The earth.

The quiet corners of the world that need warmth.

You offer it simply because it overflows.

You are the hearth.

You are the warmth.

You are the nurturer and the nurtured.

Let yourself linger in this radiant reciprocity.

This sacred romance with life.

Caring is your way of loving the world.

And letting yourself be cared for is how you say yes to staying alive within it.

Begin now to let this cottage dissolve from the screen of your mind.

Take in the darkness behind your eyelids and the slivers of light from the hearth's fire attempting to get in.

And once you open your eyes,

You are back in the golden field of grain and flowers.

Back where you started and fed by love.

Welcome a more expansive breath back into your body now.

Perhaps inviting in any gentle movement.

And when you're ready,

You can blink your eyes open if they aren't already open.

And just allow whatever is right before you to come into your vision.

Now look to the right,

The left,

And back to center.

Some reflective questions for you to think about and journal if you feel called.

Where in my life am I ready to receive the same care I offer so easily to others?

Where in my life am I ready to receive the same care I offer so easily to others?

And what feeds me at the deepest level?

What feeds me at the deepest level?

Thank you so much for joining me here today.
