A one-moment meditation starts with just checking in with where you're at right now.

So wherever you are,

Whatever you're doing,

Just pause and close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in,

Exhale through the mouth.

And if you want to do that a couple more times,

That's fine too.

Because we're just pausing for a moment and in this moment,

We're not checking in with our thinking.

We're checking in with our body and we're checking in with our surroundings.

So firstly,

What does it sound like right now?

What can you hear in the landscape,

In the soundscape?

What's the temperature like against your skin?

Can you hear your heart beating?

And then just checking in with your body.

How's your body doing?

Are there any areas of tension?

Maybe your brow is furrowed,

Maybe your jaw is tense.

And just releasing,

Releasing,

Releasing.

And just staying with the sounds and with the body and noticing if your mind wants to come in,

Which it will.

But for this moment,

Just staying with being absolutely present to what is.

There is nothing else but this moment.

There is no need to think about the future.

There's no need to dwell on the past.

The future hasn't been written yet and the past is just an amalgamation of memories.

All you have is this moment.

So notice it.

Notice how it feels in your body.

Notice how it sounds.

And breathe.

Don't forget to breathe.
