As part of your depression treatment strategy, practice this meditation. You'll feel calmed down by the soft piano notes and soothing voice. According to studies, meditation can lessen stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. Remember that starting a meditation practice does not require you to stop taking any prescriptions or other depression treatments you may currently be using.

Welcome to this meditation for depression healing.

This technique is intended to support you while you walk through the difficulties of depression by helping you develop a sense of inner calm and ease.

To begin,

Find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down and gently close your eyes.

Take a few deep breaths,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And as you breathe,

Let go of any tension or worry you may be holding in your body.

Now,

I want you to picture yourself at a stunning peaceful area of nature.

It could be a pleasant beach,

Serene forest or pleasant meadow.

Give yourself a permission to lose yourself in the peace and beauty of this location.

Take note of the hues,

Textures,

Aromas and sounds.

Let yourself be totally in the now.

As you soak in the peacefulness of this natural setting,

Imagine a gentle,

Healing light emanating from the center of your being.

This light is warm,

Loving and compassionate.

It's here to help you heal and restore balance to your mind,

Body and spirit.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Imagine this healing light spreading throughout your entire body,

Soothing and calming every part of you.

Imagine this light penetrating any areas of tension,

Pain and worry.

With its warmth and softness,

As you bask in the healing light,

Repeat to yourself the following affirmations.

Release any negative thoughts or beliefs.

No longer serve me.

I am strong,

Resilient and capable of healing.

Allow yourself to stay in this beautiful place for as long as you need,

Until you feel completely rejuvenated and at peace.

Slowly bring your awareness back to your body and your surroundings.

Take a few deep breaths before gently opening your eyes.

Remember that you can come back to this meditation any time you need to feel a sense of calm and healing.
