This is a state of hyper arousal.
It means your system believes it needs to stay vigilant.
We're not going to fight that.
We're going to slow it.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a longer breath out through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Exhale slowly.
One more time.
Now begin breathing in for 4,
2,
3,
4 and out for 7,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7.
Repeat this on your own.
Bring attention to your feet.
Press them gently into the floor.
Release.
Roll your shoulders once.
Let your jaw loosen.
Let your gaze settle.
Hyper arousal is energy.
It is not danger.
You don't need to solve anything right now.
You only need to regulate.
Inhale for 4,

Exhale for 8,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8.
Do this again on your own.
Feel the weight of your body.
Heavy.
Supported.
Allow gravity to do some of the work.
Stay here quietly.
You don't have to fix your life tonight.
Just help your body settle and that is enough.
