Chapter 19.

Dancing to the music playing in the kitchen as she finished preparing the last container of food for their picnic,

Dahlia handed Enro the glass dish of sliced fruit.

Smiling at her joy,

He placed this container on top of all the other ones piled up in the picnic basket they had bought just for this combined birthday celebration.

Dishes,

Napkins,

Silverware,

And thermos.

He closed the lid.

Dahlia danced over to Enro,

Standing behind him,

And sliding her arms around his chest,

Squeezing tightly and leaning her head against his back.

Today is going to be so much fun,

She said.

Thank you for playing along with me.

I know you don't feel like we need to celebrate your birthday too,

But I didn't get the chance to celebrate you in January before I moved from Bali.

Celebrating our birthdays together feels perfect.

So thank you.

Enro put his arms over hers,

Lifting her hand to kiss the back of it.

Every day is a celebration with you,

Dahlia.

It just keeps getting better and better.

Sometimes it's hard to believe that this is our life.

Feeling him starting to turn around in her arms,

Dahlia leaned back smiling,

Lifting her chin up for his kiss.

Okay,

Let's go.

We have the perfect weather with sunshine today,

Even though it might be a little chilly.

Carrying their picnic basket,

Blankets,

And extra sweatshirts,

They left the apartment,

Walking down to the car and loading everything into the back seat.

Dahlia was in charge of the music while Enro drove,

As had become their routine.

Chatting the whole way,

Dahlia felt happier than she could remember.

On this,

Her 27th birthday,

It was almost inconceivable to look around at the reality of her life.

She was in flow with the best version of herself,

And this man by her side was the key activator for this shift.

As they pulled into the parking lot near the trail,

Dahlia noticed how few cars were here today.

It looks like we will have the place all to ourselves,

She said with a smile.

Grabbing their items from the back seat,

They locked the car and started their hike.

Earlier in the week,

They had noticed a small clearing about 15 minutes up the path that offered a little privacy and a beautiful view of the ocean.

Each carrying a handle of the basket,

They made their way to that spot,

Stretched out their blankets,

And sat down together.

In no rush to eat yet,

They curled up under the extra blanket and enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine.

Even with the trees a few feet behind them to block some of the wind,

It was still a little chilly with the breeze coming in from the ocean.

Enro,

Dahlia said quietly,

What do you think happens if you don't fulfill your mission here on earth?

While they had shared many discussions about why they were here and their soul's missions on earth,

This was the first time Dahlia had asked about the possibility of failure.

Enro sighed.

I don't know.

I have thought about it so many times,

He said slowly.

I don't believe we are punished by God or the universe if we don't meet some level of accomplishment or success.

But I feel a lot of grief and disappointment in myself when I think about meeting my guides after I leave earth and letting them down.

Not being able to say that I did all the things I wanted to do while I was here.

What do you think?

Dahlia was nodding her head,

Still feeling the truth of his answer.

I feel the same about the disappointment I would have in not being able to do what I believe I came here to do.

Not being strong enough or brave enough or focused enough.

Getting distracted by silly details or obstacles that aren't really even that difficult to move through.

I have found that each birthday brings more of an intensity to staying in alignment with my visions,

She said.

Like the excuses in my head just sound weaker and more ridiculous.

What excuses are you talking about?

Enro asked.

Dahlia sighed.

Well,

The obvious ones that trip me up mentally.

What will other people think if I tell them why I believe I am here?

Maybe I should have more credibility or experience before I step into the leadership role I see.

Maybe I'm too young.

Enro chuckled.

We both know age has nothing to do with it.

Our souls are timeless and our connection to flow is wide open and powerful.

Yes,

That is true,

Dahlia replied.

I feel that and hear that often as a reply from my soul when my mind starts to doubt.

So perhaps the questions for this birthday,

Enro said,

Are when do you begin sharing and how do you want to be sharing your visions?

The answer I hear to when is now.

But you already know that,

She said with a laugh.

Enro smiled,

Nodding his head.

So how do I share my dreams?

I feel like I am ready to start playing with imagery and words,

A combination of the sketches I've been drawing and my voice describing what I'm seeing in my dreams,

Dahlia said.

I've been feeling the buzz in my fingers after deep meditations where I want to bring the colors and the movement of the light over the water more clearly onto paper so that I can make it visible.

I don't know if I can fully capture the light and the colors,

But it feels like I'm ready to start expressing and sharing it.

Yes,

Enro said with a huge grin.

Yes,

That feels amazing.

I believe that as you start to let the energy flow into something tangible,

It will create more room for more energy to flow in with new information.

It feels like you're opening a faucet and as you draw and the images take form and the energy starts to move,

The faucet will keep flowing through more images and more words.

Yes,

That is how I see it too,

Dahlia said,

Feeling her heart dancing in her chest with excitement.

I've been waiting until the right time and it feels like claiming this at my birthday is significant.

Enro leaned over to give her a hug and a kiss on her forehead.

Does that mean you're ready to start,

He said,

This week?

Dahlia slowly exhaled,

Steadying her nervous system as she said the words.

Yes,

This week.

I begin this week and I commit to sharing those images and words.

I know the feeling I experience every time I see the light over the water.

It's peaceful and loving and I believe that energy and emotion will go with the drawings I create and connect the people who see what I'm creating.

Exactly,

Enro said.

Exactly,

And I will be the first one to like and share what you are creating.

Okay,

That's my birthday intention,

Dahlia said,

Smiling,

Feeling joy move through her body.

Looking at Enro,

This beautiful man who was now doing life by her side,

She asked,

What about you?

If this is our combined birthday celebration,

What commitment are you making,

My Aquarius love?

Enro grinned at her.

I commit to taking care of you and supporting you with everything I have.

In fact,

Perhaps it is time that we make it official.

Pulling his right hand out of his sweatshirt pocket,

Enro lifted his body up slightly so that he was kneeling on his right knee in front of Dahlia.

What?

Dahlia said,

Feeling tears immediately fled her eyes.

Blinking quickly,

Her heart pounding,

She looked first at the small jewelry box with a beautiful emerald ring inside,

And then up at Enro,

Whose eyes were fixed on her,

His body tense,

And his smile wider than she had ever seen it.

What?

She whispered.

Dahlia,

My love,

I have waited my entire life to find you,

And now that you are here with me,

I don't want to ever be apart again.

Please will you do me the honor of accepting my request to be my wife?

Taking her hands in his,

Enro was quiet as he waited for her reply.

Unable to control herself,

Dahlia jumped forward,

Wrapping her arms around Enro's neck,

Knocking them both backwards onto the blanket.

Crying,

Giggling,

And kissing him all over his face,

She said yes,

Yes,

Yes,

Yes,

A million times over,

For the rest of our lives,

Yes.

Both of them laughing and crying,

Enro wrapped his arms around Dahlia,

Holding her firmly on top of him as he laid with his back on the ground.

Forever,

He said steadily.

Forever,

Dahlia whispered,

Kissing him.

Slowly sitting up,

Enro laughed and picked the jewelry box up from where it had fallen on the ground.

Do you want to see your ring?

He asked,

Laughing again.

Oh my goodness,

Yes,

Yes,

Please,

Dahlia said.

Yes,

Please,

Will you put it on my finger?

Wiping away tears,

Laughing,

Overwhelmed by all of the emotion and energy moving between them,

Dahlia offered her shaky left hand to Enro.

As he gently slid the ring onto her finger,

Enro looked into Dahlia's eyes.

With this ring,

I promise to be right by your side for the rest of our journey here on earth,

He said.

Dahlia smiled,

Feeling the tears running again.

Wrapping her fingers around Enro's hand,

She leaned forward to kiss him.

You and me,

She said,

Together.

Sitting side by side,

Dahlia lifted her hand up to see the ring Enro had put on her finger.

The sunlight sparkling through the facets of the jewel,

Green light shimmered in different directions.

Enro,

It is stunning,

She said,

Amazed at the perfection and simplicity of this ring that he had chosen for her.

When did you get this?

How long have you known?

All of the questions came pouring forward as she turned her hand in different directions to marvel at the ring.

I bought it on my birthday in January,

Enro said,

Knowing that I would give it to you on your birthday.

I can't believe you've been waiting all this time,

Dahlia said laughing.

That is incredible.

I knew the moment I met you,

Enro said.

Me too.

Dahlia felt the memory of that moment in the restaurant in Bali wash through her body.

She turned to look at him,

Suddenly serious and laser-focused in her intensity.

Enro,

We are not going to fail in our mission here on earth.

I know we came here to create change,

And I know we can do anything together.

Our story is just starting,

And I believe in us more than anything.

Matching her energy immediately,

Enro nodded.

I agree,

And my intention is the same as it has been from when we first met.

I am here to support you and do this journey together,

Whatever that takes.

He grinned,

And it's going to be even more fun when you are my wife.

Dahlia smiled,

Feeling her body vibrating with joy and excitement as he looked at her and claimed their future together.

Yes,

She said,

A million times,

Yes.

Leaning forward into his arms,

She rested her head on his shoulder.

I love you,

She whispered.

I love you too,

He replied.

Thank you for saying yes.
