Chapter 16 Sitting on the couch in his living room with his right arm around Dahlia,

Who was snuggled up as close as she could possibly be against his chest,

Enro closed his eyes,

Absorbing fully the perfection of this one moment in time.

Pulling her just a tiny bit closer,

He leaned his head against hers.

I love you,

He whispered.

He could feel Dahlia's smile against his chest and heard her reply.

I love you too.

It had only been two weeks since Dahlia arrived in Brisbane and moved into Enro's apartment,

And yet they both felt like it was yesterday and two years,

All collapsing into one beautiful moment after another,

Just like this one.

I keep thinking about my dream,

He heard Dahlia say,

Interrupting his quiet bliss.

The one about the lightship?

He asked.

Yes,

The one that I keep having ever since we met,

She said.

Do you want to tell me about it again,

Enro asked,

Knowing that she knew how much he loved the story of this dream.

Dahlia smiled.

You already know this story.

But you know this is a story I will never get tired of hearing,

He replied.

Maybe as you speak it out loud,

Another piece of clarity will happen,

Just like before.

OK,

Dahlia said.

She lifted her legs up to put them across his lap and lean in even closer.

Enro sighed with satisfaction,

Relaxing more into the cushions of the couch at his back.

So,

The dream always starts the same way,

Dahlia said,

Setting the scene through her words as she had before.

You and I are outside at the park near the ocean.

It's a beautiful sunny day.

The sky is clear,

Blue,

Just a few white clouds off in the direction of the ocean.

We are walking the trail from the marina up towards the cliffs,

Laughing,

Feeling good.

We look exactly as we look now.

It doesn't seem as if it's from a different time.

As we go around the bend and the bay view opens up in front of us,

We hear the sound coming across the ocean.

Loud.

Like the sound that water makes when it sprays behind a boat and you're sitting at the back of the boat.

A little bit of jet engine,

Perhaps,

But mostly the sound of the water rushing quickly.

We both stop to turn to see what is happening.

At first,

All I can see is the spray of the water moving from far off in the horizon towards land.

Wider than any ship could make a spray like that.

But not a wave like a tsunami where you see the water rising up as a wall.

It is all spray and bright white light at the center of the spray.

Almost blinding,

But so mesmerizing that I can't look away.

I hear you say,

Oh my God,

What is that?

What is happening?

As I am thinking the words,

You are saying them out loud.

So I know you are seeing what I am seeing.

You grab my hand.

And as you do that,

We both turn to look at each other in disbelief.

The sound is getting louder,

Though.

And we both turn back to stare at this phenomenon.

It's as if light is being generated or formed in front of our eyes,

Merging or alchemizing through the water.

The speed at which this vision is moving towards us slows and then stops at what seems maybe three kilometers away from the shore.

It is a mesmerizing display of light and sound and movement,

But not at all scary,

Completely captivating.

As we stand on the trail at the cliff looking at what is happening,

We both feel the shift in our hearts at the same moment.

With a sharp inhale of our breath simultaneously and a squeezing of our hands,

We take a step back in unison,

Almost falling down to the ground.

It was so jarring.

You let go of my hand and pull me into a sideways hug because neither of us can stop looking at what is happening on the surface of the water.

Slowly,

As we watch,

A shape takes form.

It is almost as if multiple sunbeams had been frozen and made visible through water,

The only way to describe it.

I can see beams of light,

But they look like waterfalls of running rivers,

Energy flow,

Coming from the sky down in multiple directions,

Six,

Seven,

Eight different directions all overlapping and meeting right at the surface of the water where all of the spray and noise is happening.

Do you see this,

Enro?

What is this,

I ask you,

Speaking urgently.

Holding Dahlia on the couch as she shared her dream,

Enro found himself answering her in the present moment as she had told him many times he had answered in the dream.

I don't know,

But the only word I keep hearing in my head is love,

Pure love,

Pure love.

I feel it,

Dahlia said in the current moment,

Sitting with Enro on the couch,

Tapping back into the experience of her dream.

And that's where it ends,

Dahlia said with a sigh.

They were both quiet for a moment,

Taking in the feeling fully.

Knowing that the repetition of the same exact dream was somehow preparation for the reason they had found each other and were together now in Brisbane.

What do we do with this,

Enro?

Dahlia asked the same question they still had not been able to answer.

Until more is experienced in your recurring dream,

He said,

The only thing to do is hold the vibration and wait for more information.

I know,

But the waiting is so hard,

She replied.

It feels like it's been forever.

They both laughed.

Eight weeks,

Enro said.

Eight weeks and our entire worlds have shifted orbit.

Eight weeks and I am happier than I ever dreamed I could be.

Who knows what another eight weeks can bring?

I think we can be patient.

Dahlia smiled,

Leaning back her head and lifting her chin up,

Locking eyes with this beautiful human she had fallen madly in love with only eight weeks ago.

Okay,

She exhaled,

Then why don't we go for a walk on our favorite trail and let those beams of light know that we are ready whenever they are?

Enro laughed and leaned in to kiss her.

Only you.

Perfect.

Let's go.

Unwinding their bodies from each other,

They stood up,

Stretched,

And leaned in for another hug and kiss.

They walked over to the kitchen to grab their water bottles and a snack and head out for another hike on their favorite trail.
