Connecting to your experience as it is unfolding in this moment. Observing what is alive in you without the story about it. Giving you a breath of stillness as we disentangle from the stream of thinking and the grasping or clinging of experience to be this way or not that way.

Good morning.

So here we are,

Another morning,

Another moment.

Just allow yourself as you come into your seat or if the body's uncomfortable and in pain today,

Laying down.

Just notice what is here with you today.

What's unfolding?

So we're not wanting to get into the story about what's there,

We're just curious.

We're simply the observer.

And so today there may be intense pain or emotion or rumination and thoughts and thinking.

Or there may be less of that.

There may be pleasant sensations and emotions rising.

It doesn't matter what is there,

We're just noticing life,

Noticing our life as it unfolds.

Can we begin to have a relationship with life that is not arguing with life,

Not debating,

Wanting it to be something other than it is?

Even if it is really unpleasant,

Can we simply notice and allow what's there to be there?

So take a moment to just scan through your body,

Taking a nice deep breath in through the nostrils and out through the nostrils.

Just noticing where your tender spot is in your body today and maybe placing your hand on that spot,

Acknowledging that tenderness with a sense of warmth,

A sense of kindness.

It's okay,

That this is what is showing up for me today.

Just be with that sensation,

That emotion.

Taking a nice deep breath in through the nostrils.

Just letting go through the mouth.

Let your whole body sink and surrender through that out breath.

Breathing in again and breathing out through the mouth again.

One more breath like this,

Breathing in and breathing out,

Just allowing that breath to be a natural breath now,

Breathing in and out,

Noticing the sounds around you,

Hearing them without the hearer,

To allow our experience to float in and through our awareness.

There's no commentary about it,

It just is the experience of a sound passing through our awareness.

As thoughts come in,

We just lightly touch those thoughts,

We give them no attention,

We refrain from thinking,

We refrain from rumination,

No matter how strong those thoughts are,

No matter how convincing they are to try and take you into worry,

Into agitation,

Into sadness.

They may have that feel about them that wants to drag you out of this place right here,

But we choose in every moment to have a relationship with life as it's unfolding right here.

And we let go of that energy that is wanting to pull us into thinking.

It's very strong,

Some days it's not,

Some days it is,

And we just acknowledge that.

The practice is to keep coming back to our relationship with how life really is,

The reality of this moment is what is true.

And if we go in and we take that lead of that thinking and rumination,

It will take us into a spiral,

And that's what the ego does.

It pulls us away,

It takes us away from what's really happening in this moment,

And we begin to suffer,

And sometimes quite deeply because we take that lead from the ego and we fall down that spiraling whirlpool.

So just for today,

Let's not choose to take the lead,

That strong pull from the ego,

And let's just come back to here,

What's here,

Right in this moment.

Notice the sensations in your body,

Feel your hands connected to your legs,

Feel the aliveness that runs through your body,

The sounds of life through birdsong,

Maybe the coolness or warmth around you,

And we're just breathing in,

And we're breathing out,

And we choose in every moment to just accept what is here,

This is life right now,

And we choose not to take the path of desire,

Which is wanting something different to what this moment is.

And if this moment isn't quite what we want,

Then the mind will try and pull us away into trying to get what we want,

And that's desire.

We let go of desirous attachment and we begin to flow with the reality of what is right here,

And we let go of suffering as well.

Here I am,

With all the parts of me,

All the sounds,

All of life that is unfolding right here,

And I'm with it,

Breathing it in,

Taking it in on my inhale,

Surrendering to it and falling into it on my exhale.

Let your body relax with each exhalation as you surrender to what is here,

Resisting the urge to be taken off into thinking.

And then just as we come to finish,

To come to a close,

Just notice the body,

Notice if it wants to stretch or open.

Maybe some breaths to breathe in through the nostrils,

And out through the mouth as you just surrender,

Opening the heart,

Opening the arms,

Expanding.

Feel how your body wants to stretch and move today.

As we awaken and embrace this day.

In this day,

Connecting with each moment,

Allowing life to unfold moment to moment,

Resisting the urge of thinking to take you away,

And just let life happen.

When we stay in this present moment,

Life is all around us.

It will always reveal to us what is to do next,

When we align moment to moment.

May today happen for you with ease and peace.

Namaste.
