Hi,
This is Theresa Conte and welcome to Day 7 of 30 Days of Gratitude to Inspire and Uplift You.
Today,
I'd like to share a quote from Robert Brault.
He says,
Enjoy the little things,
For one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
And now a thought to ponder.
Even small things like the taste of coffee,
An impromptu conversation with someone online at the supermarket,
Or a kiss from a parent,
Child,
Or partner can fill us with warmth and gratitude.
If you're in a safe and private place,
I invite you to sit or lie down in a comfortable position and go on a little guided journey with me.
So close your eyes and think of the time you were with someone or doing something that you didn't think was significant at the time,
But that fills you with a sense of joy and contentment as you look back on it.
Notice the details.
For instance,
What are you doing?
Where are you?
And who are you with,
If anyone?
Even noticing details like what you're wearing,
What colors you see,
And what sounds you hear can play a significant role in the experience.
As you reflect on the situation,
Be aware of the value it provides you.
How does it add more meaning and purpose to your life?
What feelings does this experience awaken inside of you?
I'll be quiet for a few minutes while you reflect on the situation.
Looking back on my own life,
I so appreciate some of the experiences I had with my dad that I took for granted at the time,
Like enjoying a video together,
Even though it wouldn't have been one I would have chosen for myself.
It helped us to connect without having to do or say anything special.
It was just being in the same room together,
Sharing a moment.
Perhaps you've noticed something similar,
A situation perhaps that didn't seem so important to you at the time,
But that now seems precious and beautiful in its simplicity.
If so,
Take a few more moments to let the experience percolate as it comes to mind.
And once again,
Notice how the experience gifts you and perhaps those involved.
As you look back on life's simple pleasures,
Allow the good feelings of peace and happiness resonate within you.
Then send a blessing to the people,
Animals,
Or the environment you were in,
Thanking them for participating in the experience with you.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
In the coming days,
I invite you to stop,
Smile,
And take a moment to appreciate life's simple pleasures.
Take note of how they give your life greater meaning,
Fulfillment,
And purpose.
Perhaps there's no big or small,
Only things to cherish.
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
