Hi,
This is Theresa Conte and welcome to Day 21 of 30 Days of Gratitude to Inspire and Uplift You.
Today,
I'd like to begin by sharing a Native American saying with you.
It says,
Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.
And now,
A thought to ponder.
It's easy to lose faith and feel discouraged when things don't go the way that we've envisioned.
But what if everything is already perfect,
It just looks different than we've imagined?
So here's a little experiment.
Think back to a time when something didn't work out the way you had hoped for or expected.
As you reflect on the situation,
What was the final result?
What was,
Or may have been,
The blessing?
If you don't see anything right at the moment,
That's okay.
Maybe something will come to you a little bit later.
Be open to the possibility,
Knowing that the seed has been planted.
Life is always moving us toward our wholeness.
It's our job to tune in and trust that things are unfolding for our benefit.
Here's an example from my personal life.
I recently had a conflict with my family doctor about a course of treatment for a minor ailment.
We have different philosophies.
I prefer a more holistic approach and she allopathic.
Whichever works for each of us is fine,
But in this case she was very upset with me and it led to a parting of ways.
She actually fired me as a patient.
I was upset about it initially.
It was actually a little traumatic,
But I wound up finding a new physician that is in alignment with my values.
I could have remained upset,
But I decided to trust the process and let it go.
After all,
Our doctor-patient relationship wasn't exactly ideal.
So what initially appeared to be a fiasco led to something even better than I had before.
When things don't work out the way you hoped,
Look for unknown blessings already on their way.
Don't wait for the sky to open up.
Let simple things surprise you.
Try it out for a week.
Look beyond the obvious and see what you discover.
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
