Hello,
This is Stephanie Hudson.
Welcome to my healing sleep meditation.
In this meditation,
We will travel back to our childhood bedroom,
A place we were safe and secure.
When I was younger,
There was a fire at my house.
It burned down and with it everything I owned in the world.
All my memories,
All my letters,
All my artwork,
Everything.
This meditation is written for those of us who feel the need to travel back and reconnect with once upon a time when we knew not what was to come,
But reveled in what was to be.
Here we will travel to the new world meadow and step inside the giant,
That magical tree possessing the power to transport us back to a time free from worry and complication.
Make yourself comfortable now,
Close your eyes and know that you are safe.
Take a deep full breath in through your nose,
That's it.
Then let it out on a long sigh.
Now settle deep into your body so you can fully relax.
And with each breath,
Sink deeper into the support beneath you.
And at last,
When you have exhaled all that stale air from within,
Let the universe support you as you release all that is holding you back.
Let go of the tension in your shoulders,
Feel the melt away from your ears.
Let go of all that is sitting in your forehead and feel the pressure in your cheeks seep away as your jaw becomes slack and loose.
Stretch out your fingers,
Release all the tension in your toes and focus on the darkness behind your eyelids.
Envisage all that nervous activity leaving your brain.
Watch it dissipate into the air around you.
It is just nervous energy and has no place here.
Let it go now,
That's it.
Just let it float away,
Up,
Up,
Up into the sky.
And know that you are free.
And as your body releases all the tension of the day,
So your mind will follow.
And you have made it.
You are standing in the meadow facing the new world giant.
See how huge it is and feel the vibration as it pumps the bluest oxygen into the air through its rainbow-coloured veins.
The air surrounding it is enveloped in a fine blue mist and if you walk around the back,
There's a little door.
Can you see it?
It's set deep into the bark.
Yes,
That's the one.
This is the door to your past.
The door to years gone by.
Step in closer now and take a deep breath in.
And when you exhale,
Place your palm upon the door and push gently.
You are now standing on the threshold to your old bedroom.
As the sun rushes into the corridor to greet you,
Notice how bright it is.
This is the sunshine of years gone by.
It carries all your childhood hopes and all your childhood dreams.
Close your eyes now and feel the energy filter through your being and allow it to rest deep into your chest.
This is your energy.
The energy from a time gone by.
It is welcoming you back.
Back to you.
Look down now and step into the footprints of a time gone by.
Remember when they danced without a care in the world?
This is you.
This is your energy.
It is still here.
You are still here.
Place your fingers upon the light switch and feel the connection.
Just how many times have your fingers rested here?
You are about to enter the safest place in the world.
The one place you can shut everything out.
Now take another deep breath in and step inside.
That's it.
Don't be afraid.
This is your place.
The place you belong.
Feel the surge of youthful optimism and energy bouncing off each wall to encircle you.
And as you close the door behind you,
Rest your palms against the wood.
Then breathe in all the wonder of a time gone by.
The scent of your favourite clothes.
The colours that represent everything you love.
And the bright light energy that radiates all about you.
And just look,
There stands your bed.
Draped in those covers you loved so much.
Sink your hands into them.
They are soft and they are welcoming.
Remember how you would throw yourself down upon them when you were tired.
And how they would wrap their arms around you to hold you close as you drifted off to sleep.
How well they supported you when you were ill and lifted you up when they were freshly laundered.
Plump up the pillow now and drink in the scent of a time gone by.
Take it in your arms and hold it close.
That's it.
How reassuring that smell is.
It is warm and it is comforting yet cool against your face.
You are home now.
You have come home.
And there sitting waiting patiently for you is the one who always understood.
The one who will always understand.
The one who will never leave you.
It is your most prized childhood stuffed toy.
Pick them up and hold them close.
They understand.
They always did.
This is your time and your place.
You are safe here.
Now look across to the wardrobe.
Do you remember what's inside?
Open the door.
And just look,
There are the shoes you used to wear.
You loved those shoes,
Didn't you?
What colour are they?
Pick them up.
Perhaps they can still hug your toes.
And what about the clothes?
Run your fingers through everything that's hanging.
And see where your fingers settle.
These are the fabrics that sat closest to your skin.
The clothes that made you feel everything you felt when you put them on.
You are stepping into a time gone by.
Now return to your bed and lie back.
And look up and all around you.
What do you see?
Are there patterns?
Are there colours?
Marks or perhaps fingerprints?
Perhaps there are posters or some pictures that you painted.
And there on the bookshelf,
Look.
There are many coloured spines.
How you held some of these stories close to your heart.
And believed every word you read.
And what's that?
You can hear music playing.
The song you would play over and over again.
Listen as though you have heard it for the first time.
Each key change.
Each layer upon layer of sound.
Each resonance and pattern that make up the music that was so important to you.
This was the backdrop to all of your significant experiences.
You are home now.
You are safe and you are home.
And as the sweet sounds lull you.
To a calm,
Relaxing state.
Know that you are safe here and everything is okay.
This is your place.
And it will always be here whenever you wish to return.
You will always be welcome here.
And as your eyelids become heavy.
And your body begins to sink.
Deep into a time gone by.
Be safe in the knowledge.
This is your time.
And this is your place.
Sleep well dear soul.
And when you awake.
Feel refreshed.
And replenished with all the energy of a time gone by.
This has been Stephanie Hudson.
