Welcome to this guided meditation.
My name is Tawanna and I want to invite you to consider letting go of chasing after what it is you should be doing with your life,
And instead allowing yourself some much needed rest.
If you've been dealing with ongoing uncertainties,
Doubts,
And hopelessness of ever realizing your purpose or what it is you might want to do with your life,
Then continuing on this pathless journey can only bring you more of the same.
There are many reasons for our need to search endlessly for what it is we really want to do,
While ultimately turning down the many options available to us.
Most work-life seekers will eventually settle down after many trials of testing out the possibilities,
But for those that have been desperately trying to figure out what they want to do when they grow up,
But just can't seal the deal on something because nothing is ever good enough,
Might be challenged with the protection of perfection.
But we need the protection because we don't feel safe to handle some or all of the aspects of anything we have considered doing.
Now I say we,
Because I share in the pain of chasing after my purpose and the life work I should be doing.
Our pursuit of happiness can become dependent upon finding the right or perfect career,
Purpose,
Or path because we simply are afraid of something or afraid of the unknowns.
Even if you know and accept you are what's considered a multi-passionate human being,
Here to do many things.
This perfection and the fear behind it can still rob you of your joy,
Contentment,
And freedom to be who you are and create the many things you want to do in this life.
What we need most in times of ongoing pursuits that have no end date and can never be finalized is permission to rest.
Thinking about resting when we are sure we should be finding the answers we think we need probably feels a bit scary,
Like being asked to take our hands off the wheel and just allow ourselves to just be.
But this is exactly what is needed in order to reframe,
Realize,
Or accept what we are really chasing and possibly running from.
When we want something really bad and we feel pressure to figure it all out,
We tend to overdo it to the point of indecision fatigue.
If you have gone past your thinking limits to get the answers you seek,
It's probably a good time to unplug your mind and body.
Join me in finding some rest from the obsession of figuring out what to do or what to choose.
Find a comfortable space to either lie down or sit up.
Whatever feels best to you.
Close your eyes if this feels right to you.
With each breath in and out,
We'll be coming back to the present where your fears and the need to know can begin to shrink.
Go ahead and take in a deep breath,
Hold it.
When returning to the present moment,
What was once a catastrophic crisis can now be a normal inquiry about what your real needs and desires look like.
Breathe in,
Breathe out breath.
We can tend to need more time or to catch our breath with an extra exhale.
Take any extra breaths you might need at any time.
Breathe in and out.
Small becomes the new big as we unfold the layers of deep pressures to be more than we are and to be what others expect.
Breathe in and as you exhale,
Let all of the weight on your forehead,
Shoulders,
And arms to simply release.
Continue to breathe in and allow your exhale to release even more tension throughout your body.
Just relax.
Let's be here in this present moment where there are no problems.
There is nothing to know.
There is nothing to resolve.
Be here and continue to breathe in and out to simply release.
Any fears of weakness or feeling incapable can simply rest.
You don't have to do anything with any pain.
So be here right now as you unburden your mind and lighten your body.
You are free to make peace with the need for certainty.
In this moment it has no power over you.
All is well as you breathe in and out.
Continue to breathe in and out at your own pace and keep returning to zero where there are no problems for you to solve.
Let's begin to return to the room and at any time you can open your eyes.
Your rest journey has concluded for now.
I want to praise you for taking this rest break.
If you got something from this meditation,
Please use it often.
And if you can,
I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments.
For now,
The restful teacher in me honors the restful teacher and healer in you.
Namaste.
